There are things Alex can’t unhear.

Lena LITERALLY would’ve been the perfect paragon for humanity though like the writers really shit the bed with not making her the paragon of humanity. She ecompasses it beautifully by always wanting people to be better and good. But also by having major flaws and maybe the not so great parts of humanity. But that’s what would make someone a great candidate for the paragon of humanity. Is encompassing both the good and bad in humans, because humans and humanity itself is not perfect and not always good. But what matters is if the good is what you always believe in. It would’ve been set up perfectly and made sense considering her brother is playing a huge part on the evil end. She could’ve played a huge part on the good end. Luthor vs Luthor. And imagine the drama and bickering between her, Lex and Kara. Like the monitor could’ve easily been like:

“Lena Luthor, despite being given every opportunity and reason to turn against humanity, you have never stopped wanting to do good and make people better. Thus, being the best of humanity.”

You know why I think I dig the idea of Supercorp at this point? As both a screenwriter and a human being...

Because I love the idea of showing how a connection can evolve into something unexpected and unavoidable. I love that we’re seeing Kara Danvers/Supergirl literally unable to exist without this particular person (Lena). We’re seeing her break her own rules for this person. We’re seeing her soften in ways we’ve never seen because of this person. We’re seeing her basically crave this person. We’re hopefully also soon seeing her realize she has these desperate and intense feelings for this person more than any other person in her life.

It’s amazing, the idea that the depth of a bond can go beyond reason and beyond one’s normal inclinations and regular preferences. That it can take you by surprise. That it can extend beyond the body and reach the soul. That’s the very definition of fluid. That’s an “I connect to a soul, before I connect to a body” situation. And that’s f’n beautiful. And it’s rare. It was that way with Xena/Gabrielle. It was that way with Mulder/Scully. Some of the greatest TV soulmate ships began this same way, with a deeper connection that couldn’t be defined by logic nor restricted by conflict or social norms. A love that drove every decision a character made. This is not simply them being each other’s person. This is not Meredith/Cristina. This is - beyond. This is Meredith/Derek.

Kara’s love for Lena is so intense it’s actually shocking. And Lena’s love for Kara is so intense that Kara’s betrayal literally broke her. And now it’s so strong, despite herself, that it’s breaking cracks in her hardened armor.

At this point, their love is simply undeniable by anyone with eyes or any understanding of human emotion and psychology. And to not pursue Supercorp romantically would be an epic injustice and the ultimate tragedy. How can anyone deny such an intense yearning as these two have for each other? It would be a crime of the heart and a crime of art to do so.

I KNOW this is edited to be more romantic but god dammit the it doesn’t take much and it would be a DISSERVICE to not end this build up with canon Supercorp
