This is a wizard I play in D&D. His name is Argyle Chudwell Wadsward IIII and he is an obnoxious noble who is one bad day away from becoming a supervillain.  It was kind of a joke that he looked like Eggman, but events in the campaign has sort of put him on track to building a robot-golem army and maybe someday he can fly around in a magic bucket, here’s hoping.

everyone's like wehhhhh why doesn't doctor house gets suuuueeed! like my man. literally every patient he sees is someone that's been trying to find a diagnosis for ages. i could live with a little medical malpractice if it were coming from someone ready to break into my home to look for allergens and not simply half heartedly listen to me before suggesting I lose weight and take ages of back and forth arguing to order a single test

Avatar

"it's medical malpractice" have u ever been a doctor? most medicine is malpractice. let the man limp around chewing vicodin doing 50 invasive tests please

Once Taub (derogatory) derisively said about a patient with unexplained chronic pain “7 doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him, what does that mean?” and House replied without even thinking “it means they’re idiots” and proceed to work his ass off to diagnose the patient Taub wanted to write off as a faker or something. If a doctor had said that when that patient was ME, I wouldn’t dream of suing them in a million years

Anonymous asked:

are you just rehashing the 'atheism is the only smart option' shtick

no sorry i'm one of those cool atheists who disagree with their own worldview

hold up ✋ are you really busting out that "i agree with my own beliefs" rhetoric⁉️🤨

you can believe whatever you want, as long as you're not arrogant enough to think your beliefs are true

it's funny to me when people say they can't parse my nonsense because they're autistic like buddy only one. wait. what the fuck is that little red circle?

it just disappeared when I pasted this screenshot. what is going on

anyway. as I was saying, only one person's autism is the problem here

I think a core conviction of mine (aesthetically, politically... across all domains, really) is that the low often in fact embodies the supposed virtues of the high, that these virtues are true virtues but their ownership by the high is a fiction, and that it is fundamentally important to bring this to light. We live in a world full of bad things, yes, but with good things in absolutely all of its corners, and there is no more insidious an idea than that this or that corner is empty of value so please don't look.

In this regard you might call me a radical or you might call me a moderate.

I often come into conflict with radicals who think the reverse: that the supposed virtues of the high truly are the domain of high but are not virtues, that the domain of the low is vice but only vice is just.

Well anyway.

This post is about the aesthetics of slime molds but it's also about people who say rationality is a straight man thing and it's also about why I'm so interested in "barbarians" throughout history and it's also about why I'm a partisan of fanfiction even though I don't read it and it's also about various other things than that.

Has all kinds of detritus stuck in it and on it, from being on the ground and so on. But I can hardly blame it for this, first of all because I have detritus in me too although it is better hidden (common strategy of the high regarding its vices). Virtues of the slime mold are its elegance, its uniqueness and its perseverance. Among others.

TTRPG systems are like tools And the stories they produce are, like, work projects or whatever you use tools for D&D is like a really specialized tool that marketing has convinced a bunch of people is a do-everything multi-tool It’s like a potato peeler It can peel potatos really good

You can also peel an apple with it too if you want Or a few other things But people are creating unpaid full-time jobs for themselves trying to carve a wooden chair, tighten a loose bolt, or pound a nail with their really overpriced brand-name potato peeler and getting offended when you try to hand them a chisel or a wrench or a hammer.

“You think I can afford to spend $200 on another tool???”

“N-no, this hammer is like ten–sorry, HOW MUCH did you say you spent on that potato peeler???”

Shein is going down for being an organized criminal organization. Actors and Writers are striking. Student Loan debt relief may actually go through after all. Jack Smith is closing in on Trump, and all signs point to him dying in prison. Billionares are dying in ignoble and humiliating ways. Please God keep this ball rolling, it almost feels like the first taste of justice in about as long as I can remember.
