Because I know this has been sold out for a while and it’s not fair to those who couldn’t get a copy: The Waterstones special edition Chain of Thorns extra —
Good Omens 2 feels like fanfiction not because of its contents but because the author is here on tumblr posting things like "hehe not sorry >:)" and getting hate anons
I don’t know what you see in that geriatric viagroid. He’s not afraid to kiss me.
I can’t think of a single thing that could’ve made this scene better than it was 🥰
Ian’s smile at the end 😭
Can we actually just take a minute to thank Neil actually? He DIDN'T HAVE TO give us the Apology Dance or the dance in the Ball or the Bentley scene or Angel Crowley or them sharing an armchair or the continuation of the Blitz Scene or any of it, really, but he did. Thank you, Neil.
no but it's the way for aziraphale "nothing lasts forever" meant "i'm willing to give up the bookshop if it means i can be with you safely" and for crowley it meant "nothing lasts forever, not the bookshop, not earth, not us"
I think my favourite line in season 2 is crowley's "he's far too pure of heart to be anybody's bit on the side" because any time we get to hear the way crowley talks about aziraphale to other people is a joy, but also it's just so genuine and full of so much love. he's not speaking about aziraphale with any agenda, he's just speaking off the cuff. it's ridiculously sweet. it's also hilarious because it's crowley's immediate reaction to nina suggesting that they're casually sleeping together and crowley's like, um no, we're not, but fyi if we were I would be treating him right!
It's even better because it would be SO easy to have him downplay how much he likes Aziraphale to everyone he talks to, and not even in a romantic sense.
In a show that cared less about its characters, he would be playing up how very suave and very cool he is and hiding his feelings by calling Aziraphale a dweeb and making jokes at his expense to the people around them. I mean yes, he does that with Aziraphale himself, but it's always done in a gentle, familiar tease.
But with everyone else? He doesn't even try to hide how much he adores him, how clever and special and funny and interesting he finds him. It's so deliciously sweet and earnest, but never in a way that feels overly sappy either. It's just a matter of enjoying the person you love.
Just stop and think about this moment.
Throughout the first season, before he and Ian hooked up, we don’t see Mickey with anyone outside of his family. When he’s not with them, he’s alone or we can presume he’s been alone. Mickey has probably never had a friend in his life. The kids around him being too scared to even attempt a friendship with him. He probably didn’t have someone he can truly trust outside of his siblings and cousins.
Then this boy broke into his room with the purpose of taking back his boss’ gun. This boy with a disarmingly sweet smile, one that’s so contagious that Mickey has to fight from letting a smile come across his face. This boy who could have just let Mickey rot away in juvenile detention all alone. Not a thought of him until Mickey got out. But then he came anyway, something Mickey’s probably not used to. Not used to someone wanting him to be okay. Not used to having someone miss him.
Ian was the first (and only) person that Mickey has ever been in love with. But Ian was most likely Mickey’s first friend. His first best friend. Someone who made his heart pick up speed, and, in the next moment, laugh so hard that his sides hurt for the rest of the day.
