btw the reason so many websites will just change shit to be worse for no reason, even when there isnt an obvious profit motive involved, is literally to appease investors who dont use the program or even care what it does and want it to "grow" in a way they can understand just by looking at

you cant trace Every Single Thing you dont like abt software to this obviously. sometimes developers try something and it doesn't work out. sometimes people really are just too resistant to change. but also a lot of times it's the tech equivalent of wiping an already clean spot on the counter while the manager's watching
