PT 1 of my huntlow selkie AU that maybe someday i’ll write a fic about, right now i’m just having fun sketching them out.
Willow is a selkie that lives on a small island with her human and selkie fathers. Once a bustling attraction for tourists, the island has fallen on hard times and pivoted to the fishing industry at the behest of its kingpin, Phillip Wittebane. The island’s failing economy has done nothing to deter its fae population, which continues to thrive on the island’s magical energy. Hiding in plain sight, the island’s good folk have interwoven themselves into the very fabric of island life. Phillip sheltered his young nephew, Hunter, from the temptations of the fae by homeschooling him, keeping Hunter firmly beneath his thumb and wary of all things magical. It is on one fateful weekend that Hunter sneaks out and finally meets his first faery—Willow the selkie, who saves him from a watery grave.
