Normally a pile of bones isn’t necessarily cause for alarm, and it isn’t here either, per se. Just because the authorities already know as much as I do and there isn’t anyone alive to investigate.
The former owner of this property was this man. I can’t find anything newer about this case, just rumors. It’s very rural and there isn’t a lot of coverage here anyway.
The rumor was Petry killed the horses to feed his bobcats and coyotes. His Facebook still shows he was breeding bobcats for pets. The new owner said there were dead bobcats and coyotes in the cages I saw destroyed in his yard.
Maybe the horses lived full lives and went to his property to be made use of for their meat. Maybe nothing really wrong happened with the horses. It’s just that Petry had a bit of a scary reputation and his ending doesn’t inspire confidence that he was compassionate.
