To my fellow punks/Doc wearers
As most of you probably know, in the 70's-80's there was this thing known as the "Lace Code." Though it's not very well known today and is scarcely used, some gangs and groups still use these codes. Many Lace Code gangs are known to beat up people with opposing lace colors, so to stay safe, here's a list of each lace color and their meanings.
(Reminder: these codes are not universal, please do research before deciding a color)
- Red: neo-nazi/National Front. [Alternative meaning: Left Wing or Socialist]
- White: white power/supremacy, (KKK). [Alternative meaning: non-racist, no affiliation]
- Blue: cop killer, ACAB. [Alternative meaning: worn by SHARPS (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice)/ anti-racists]
- Yellow: SHARPs/ anti-racism
- Green: neutral
- Black: traditionalist skin, punk kid, neutral. (Most likely wearing laces that came with boots)
- Black + White(two-tone): Racial unity. [Alternative meaning: into ska music]
- Plaid: non-racist/ neutral
- Purple: gay pride [Alternative meaning: anti-skinhead]
There are many more colors and codes but these are the most basic ones. Again, these codes are not universal so please do plenty of research and choose carefully when changing your boot lace color.
