to the admins: How did your current bias become your bias?

Admin J: How does one start stanning a giant puppy who sometimes looks like an assassin? I’m not entirely sure… I got so frustrated by his drawings and sarcastic jokes. And I hated the cold city guy persona that SM tried to force him into, but there were so many moments that we got to see how much he cared for the other members, how he got embarrassed and joked along when they teased him, how he was such an incredible leader, helping out the others with translations when they were on variety shows… I have to say that it happened over time rather than there being one specific moment. It never hurts that he’s taller than I am and incredibly handsome. The more I found out about him, the more I liked him: finding out that we’d both left home when we were young, how much he cares about his mother, how wonderful he is with children and animals, how he can make fun of himself, that he prefers staying at home and reading books… I found myself feeling nearly heartbroken when he left EXO, not knowing if we’d ever see him again. But he’s proven himself to be ambitious, strong, good-humored, playful, confident, witty, respectful, and hard-working. I am so proud to be a Meigeni.

Admin M: Chen. Jongdae. What first caught my attention was his voice, oh my gosh, his voice. It’s pure perfection, I’m a sucker for people who emotionally sing their verses and Chen - ho boy - he totally conveyed that in Miracles of December. I think that was the first time I’ve heard him sing. Like more longer than the other EXO songs. Then, I figured out he has an awesome personality. Honestly, personality just wins it for me. He’s a real goof but he has well intentions. His eye smile is my favorite thing in the whole universe, I swear. He’s also a little tease which I hate, I mean just look at him. I don’t need to direct you all to the yogurt one, (but I will anyways, I changed my mind.) He’s always super sweet to the fans, he makes sure no one gets left out. He’s really kind and he isn’t afraid to let his audience know that they are loved, as well as give shout outs to his family :) Also his laugh is extremely contagious, how can you not laugh!! Chen does super small things that always remind me of him like this spongebob drawing he did.

Chen, oh Chen… Even if people do say he’s under appreciated, he doesn’t seem like it. Not to me at least :)

Admin A: Joonmyun. Suho. Joonmommy. $uho. Sugar Daddy. Omma. Leader.      I don’t really even know where to start, to be honest. Joonmyun wasn’t my first bias in EXO – he just sort of stepped into the spotlight at some point. I think I started noticing him most in Showtime – he always made me laugh, so I started picking him out elsewhere. I saw how hard he worked at everything, how he cared so much for his members, how tireless he was in taking care of them…. I saw him when he accepted the award alone, and how he kept it together when everything was falling apart. I started to see him as more than the goofy leader that makes corny jokes and weird faces: I saw him as a pillar of strength.      There are very few people I have such a deep respect for. Joonmyun reminds me everyday how far hard work can take you – he trained for so long, worked so hard, threw himself into his art in order to debut. Despite this, he’s made fun of so much for different things, picked on, counted out…. He puts up with so much and yet he still always has a smile for his fans. He still has another corny joke. Joonmyun reminds me that no matter what, I can always pick myself back up.      Without fail, he’s been there for his members. He took on so much when things looked darkest; he held everyone up, encouraging them, keeping them smiling. He shouldered all that and still, I never saw him break. Falter, maybe, but not break. He kept his head up and walked proud – he took on the weight of Atlas and did it with a grace and strength many wouldn’t be able to emulate even if they tried.      I am proud to be a fan of EXO. I’m prouder still to be a fan of Joonmyun’s.

Admin I: Okay, wow, I spent like two hours trying to figure out how to start this but, ugh gosh, I don’t know. I don’t know what to say. I mean, it happened fast…like falling off the bed while sleeping, it was uncontrolled and abrupt, and a little bit scary.

I can’t really pinpoint the exact moment he became my bias. On Showtime, he was so…so…bipolar. One second he’d be quiet and aloof, the next he’d be a giant ball of fluff. But in each moment there was this sort of sincerity that’s so often missing when it comes to celebrities. He never tried to be someone he wasn’t. He’d smile when he was happy. And when he wasn’t, he wouldn’t pretend to be. He was incredibly honest, and I admired that. Actually, it’s funny, but even back then I worried for him. Being honest requires you to be vulnerable, and I always felt like this very quality of his was going to cause him pain in the future. I’m just glad he hasn’t lost it.

Sehun. Sehun. What can I say about him that everyone doesn’t already know? He’s talented, ambitious, hardworking. He can be really shy at times, and really bold at others. He’s remained strong in spite of all the harsh criticism he’s received over the years. It’s not easy standing out in a group of eleven other amazing artists, but Sehun managed to do it.

And, even after all that…I don’t know. If you were to ask me why he’s my bias, I could write you seven books on the subject, but at the same time, I wouldn’t know what to say. He’s still a bit of a mystery to me; an open book, yet so hard to read.
