you've got to love yourself.

I look at myself and what do I see? a sadness that I feel deep inside my soul. a longing for acceptance. a longing for a “welcome” sign above any entrance. I try to accept and to love my being but I can’t control this hate that I feel. this hate towards my physical and a disappointment of my mentality. and all I can wish for is to not have to face the reality. the reality of what I’m doing to myself but I can’t help it it’s like something I can’t quite reach that’s just out of reach. and I fall short of what I want to be and what I long to be. of what I want to see and what I wish to see. a beautiful rose destructed by an eye’s altered perception of how it should be perceived. when all it really wanted was to believe. that it was beautiful even in the harshest winters when it’s petals had fallen and its color had faded. and all that’s left now are the thorns of a heavy frozen stem. the remains of a once vibrant thing that people once admired for its beauty but now walk past because it’s no longer what it once was. beautiful. but that’s the thing about beauty. for it to be eternal, it must be internal. and that’s what we fail to see. the beauty that is within. we shield our eyes from beautiful potential and only open them to the physical “beauty” society has created for us. but beauty cannot be created. it simply is. it is simple.

Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
