Religion is one of my favorite subjects, so I decided to put it in my story. I imagine them discussing this topic. In my headcanon, both of them are nonbelievers, since they know better than anyone that God can’t help them defeat titans or bring back those dead soldiers. But maybe deep inside Erwin’s heart, he still holds this slight hope that there are some forces, not necessary God, could help them(which is a common hope people have in a hopeless world), or at least help him, to face his guilt. But it’s a vain wish, and they both know, they are on their own after all. As for Levi, he simply wants to believe in what Erwin said.

p.s. Although I used capitalized G, I’m not implying to Christian God here but god in general.
