#WhatsYourNature? For one of our Top 100 contestants, Shaun Johnson, it’s “generally the kind with more than two pairs of legs – the kind that often goes unnoticed or gets overshadowed by the popularized sort, like this stunning long-horned bee. While most may be familiar with the more common honeybees, we might forget that pollinators come in all shapes and sizes – ranging from beetles to flies and, of course, a myriad of wild bees.” Vote for your favorites from our photo contest, see link in our profile today! #bee #wildlife #pollinators #beautiful #spring #nature #naturephotos #livenature

Stephanie Gonzales has a spot in our Top 100 #WhatsYourNature Contest. “In late January the sakura trees in Okinawa, Japan, are just beginning to bloom. The highlight of my winter was trying to photograph the Japanese White-Eye, or Mejiro. These tiny, energetic birds are always on the move and, therefore, very difficult to photograph!” Her patience finally paid off. “This little guy paused from gathering nectar just long enough for me to snap the perfect photo.” Please let your voice be heard by clicking on the link in our profile and voting for your top contest entry. #Japan #wildlife #nature #naturephotos #naturephotography #livenature

A beautiful harvest: Amitava Chandra explains of this photo taken near Kolaghat in West Bengal, India, that “this unique white grass…is ‘kash’ in vernacular [aka: wild sugarcane]. For a very limited period of autumn it comes from nature in abundance without any cultivation….the beauty is so magnificent that on many occasions it is used for interior decorations and the dried-up stalks are used as alternate fuel.” Vote for your favorite #WhatsYourNature contest entry at the link in our profile. @camit66 #nature #india #peopleinnature  (at West Bengal)

Mandy Kidd recounts the day she took this photo on a “cold Autumn morning after a light frost and heavy dew. The cobweb is about the size of a 50 cent coin in amongst the only flowering plant on our acreage, the marigold. These delicate webs can survive the frost and the dew however one spot of rain the entire web vanishes.” Mandy’s image made it to our Top 100 in the #WhatsYourNature photo contest. Hayley Whalvin captured this small, peaceful moment in Wimborne, England, of a “harvest mouse [who] sat in a dandelion having lunch.” Whalvin spent “an hour and a half with them, watching them play, sleep, and eat.” She tells us that when she viewed the frame on her screen, “I knew I had my shot.” To vote for Hayley’s image and to see all our Top 100 photo entries visit the #WhatsYourNature photo contest page at the link in our profile. #nature #wildlife #mouse #england  (at England)

Serene San Marcos, Texas—"Less than a block away from a major interstate. The San Marcos river bubbles up from underground here in this city, and the natural filtration that occurs makes for some very clean and crystal clear water. This picture was taken the morning before a major flood which uprooted most of the trees you see in this picture,“ says Phil Lewis, a finalist in the #WhatsYourNature photo contest. @tominspires says that “nature is still the most superior technology. After trekking into the countryside for a day, [I] came across this small mountain road and a jeep. I took this aerial shot and it really shows how small we our compared to mother nature.” Tom’s adventures made it as a finalist in the #WhatsYourNature photo contest. #WhatsYourNature photo contest voting ends today! Top 100 winner Manon Belzile shared this: “The subject is a highly poisonous plant called Veratrum viride, or false hellebore. It is native here in Vermont, abundant on our land and is considered as a pest plant by farmers, but I find them particularly fascinating with the  ribbing of the leaves and vibrant greens. They are one of the first plants to emerge after the snow melts and their bright greens jump out amidst the muddy browns of early spring. If you look closely, yellow pollen dust has been deposited on the leaves, giving an appearance of ‘peach fuzz,’ making the leaves very attractive, despite their poisonous nature.” It’s your last chance, cast your vote today, bit.ly/whatsyournature. #abstract #vermont #plants #details #texture #nature #livenature
