THIIIIIIS I HATE WHEN PEOPLE USE SLURS OR USE GAY AS AN INSULT. It’s not and it shouldn’t be used as such, it pisses me off

I’ve never reblogged something so fast
Fuck Donald Trump 🖕🖕🖕🖕
You know what? No. No, Hatsune Miku did not write Harry Potter.
J. K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter. And we need to accept that.
Harry Potter isn’t some pure unproblematic beacon of perfection that we can just choose to erase the scummy author from and enjoy without guilt. Harry Potter is very much rooted in Rowling’s view of the world. The blatant antisemitism in the portrayal of the goblins, the entire race of slave creatures that actually really like being slaves and Hermione’s attempts to free them are largely played off as a joke, the almost complete dearth of canon characters of color (and then when she does put canonical characters of color in, they’re… Nagini…), the complete lack of respect for other cultures (the Japanese wizarding school literally translates to “Magic Place” in Japanese, Cho Chang is not even remotely a proper Chinese name, don’t get me started on her usage of Native American folklore), the almost complete lack of LGBTQ+ characters, the “Dumbledore is gay!” baiting, the lycanthropy-as-HIV metaphor that involves one of the werewolves intentionally infecting as many people as he can, with a preference for targeting children, no less…
These are all very much present in Harry Potter. They’re not things you can just ignore. And they’re there because Rowling wrote them in.
I know you read Harry Potter as a kid and loved it. I know when you read Harry Potter as a kid you probably didn’t even notice how shitty all this stuff was. I certainly didn’t. But you can’t go back to that time. You can’t go back to when you were 10, when you were consuming this media and loving it uncritically without notice or regard for its more problematic elements. You can’t go back to being a kid again.
And that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’re required to wholeheartedly condemn this important part of your childhood. You can still enjoy these books while acknowledging that they’ve got some really shitty things in them. You can enjoy Harry Potter as a mature adult. You don’t have to be a kid again to like it. And you’re perfectly allowed to hate on Rowling for her shittiness, past and present, while still loving Harry Potter.
So don’t say Harry Potter was written by Hatsune Miku. It wasn’t. It was written by J. K. Rowling, warts and all.
This
Reblog if you support people of all genders and sexualities 🌈🏳️🌈❤️💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈🌈
All of em!
I literally love girls so much?? Like they’re so pure and beautiful and soft but also strong and powerful and just perfect? Like every single woman is great? Especially trans women, big women and woc like…. help I’m gay
What a beautiful day to remember that trans and nonbinary lesbians are still lesbians and still valid in their genders no matter what someone has to say about it!!! 😊💕💖
YEP ❤️🏳️🌈❤️
Are there gay bugs?
he performed this when he came to my school and that shit was funny as fuck especially because a lot of the audience was LGBT ppl and we like Got It he’s so ridiculous
Omfg this is so accurate 🤣🤣
i really hate coming out but still want my extended family to know, so my mother took it upon herself to invent the game “guess which one of my kids is gay.”
the rules are simple.
- sit down with uncle so-and-so
- he says something about gay people in passing
- my mom says “there’s a gay person at this table right now. guess which of my kids it is!
- he looks frantically between the three of us trying to figure out if she’s joking or not and trying desperately not to offend anyone but also she won’t continue with the conversation unless he makes a guess so he has to make a guess
- we all enjoy his discomfort immensely
This isnt coming out of the closet. This is coughing loudly from within the closet to scare the people outside of it, which is immensely more entertaining.
This is gold
Can you please reblog if your blog is a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non binary, demisexual or any other kind of queer or questioning people? Because mine is.
Safe place! I love you all!
I’m going to be 100% honest in all of this so uhhhh bare with me. I’ve known for years that I’m only attracted to women. Of course I get the occasional “what if I’m not”, but I know deep down that I am uncomfortable being with a man in any way. The thing is that for years I refused to call myself a lesbian... This is coming from someone with extremely supportive parents and one of which is a very active ally. I would always say “I just like girls” or “I’m queer” or “I’m gay” and never “I’m a lesbian”. Despite the fact that lesbian was what I definitionally was I wouldn’t call myself it because of the taste it left in my mouth.
The term lesbian is so actively poisoned both inside the community and outside of it. Outside of the community we are sexualized, harassed, seen as less, and many other things, but what actually affected me the most was the inner community poison. “lesbians aren’t progressive enough” and “lesbians are all exclusionary, biphobic, aphobic, transphobic, or terfs”. This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to nasty comments about lesbians I’ve heard from inside the community. It took me two years to finally realize that MY TERM, that LESBIAN, isn’t a dirty word and should be fucking celebrate for the wonderful sexuality it is.
Sadly, lesbian erasure is also rampant in this community which is what can make it hard to take pride in your sexuality when there is no pride associated with it. I’ve seen lesbian erasure with my own eyes and yes, it is even at your so called most “inclusive” places. At Pride where I have to constantly search for a lesbian flag and don’t actually find one by the end, on my campus where I couldn’t get MY flag for national coming out day (meanwhile ace, bi, trans, and gay people can,,, we were the only ones left out) and we were completely erased from the lgbt history boards in our dorms despite having some of the richest history. Lesbian erasure is lesbophobia. You can’t just forget about the first letter of *L*GBTQ. You can’t just mention us once by name. We deserve to have are flag with the rest of them and our history told. How is anyone going to educate themselves on what lesbians actually are if we are erased so often?
So, for any of the lesbians, gay girls who won’t call themselves lesbians, or people who are questioning if they are a lesbian: lesbian is not a dirty word and it’s an amazing sexuality! please, for the love of god, just understand that there is nothing wrong with being a lesbian and all those nasty things people throw at us from both inside and outside of the community aren’t true!
(for anyone that actually read all that ily pls take care of yourself)
Be proud of your sexuality, Lesbian is not a dirty word!❤️🏳️🌈❤️

hey everyone, people are starting a rumor that I'm "lesbophobic" to try and make me shut down, I've posted so many lesbian rights posts and have so much respect for lesbians but I've been dealing with these rumors for a whole year now. I can't make them stop and it me hurts so much that I can't make posts about respecting lesbians anymore without people saying I'm lying. I don't know what to do
Y'all need to fuck off and protect mr. Fish ok.
Agreed. Lesbians band together, we must protect the Fish!
Here’s HSTHETE, the 24 hour comic I drew this year! Thanks to everybody who followed along on twitter this weekend as I posted these pages <3
Love this but I would just like to say I knew it would be gay by the second page
