Rest in peace, Haruma Miura. You will be missed. I can't explain how devastated I am to hear the news that you were gone. My teenage self adored you so much even now. I remember the times I used to save pictures of you on my phone and check what you've been up to lately. I love you. Forever and always.

Apology to batuuprincess

I would like to issue an apology to @batuuprincess for the earlier posting of her fanfic update to ‘Single Parents’ that had a snake head attached. I have deleted it (because I could not find the edit button on mobile, only the delete, so I immediately deleted it.)

I would like to reiterate that it was not done in malice. It was purely an accident. I do not access tumblr through my laptop (except to write this post), but through mobile. I do not know if anyone notices, but when you reblog a post, you can usually see the pics on your gallery pop up below, whether it was taken as a picture through your camera or a pic you received from other apps such as google hangouts or even screenshots (a picture roll is automatically loaded whenever a reblog will be made). In this case, i the snake was a picture sent personally through Viber (a phone and messaging app). I must have accidentally clicked the pic to attach it to the post. (please refer to the pic below the cut what it looks like on mobile, but warning! It is gory) It was a seriously grave lapse on my part and I was not careful enough as I usually just mindlessly put tags on reblogs, esp when I am scrolling through the damerey tag to replenish the queue.

In Viber, I have a thread with my family. My mother sent pictures of an obliterated snake she found in our backyard that was most probably because of our outdoor cats. I remember seeing it not just through Viber, but when I started queueing some posts for damereyconnection because it was during that time that the snake that my mother found was being talked about in our family Viber group chat. That was a personal pic shared to me and my siblings by our mother because it was shocking news.

I am really sorry for the anger and confusion. It was an honest mistake, and it was not some underhanded comment or shade to throw. I do not add anything to any reblogs and posts shared in this tumblr. I do not ever post anything personal on damereyconnection tumblr as well as my personal one.

As for the other accusations thrown my way such as what @rinskiroo is stating, I do not know what you are accusing me of, and I will also say that I am not doing whatever it is that you think I am doing, such as leaving hate comments (unless you are exaggerating this one mistake I made). Apparently, someone is spreading rumors about me (?). While I take it with a grain of salt what is said about me online that I do not even see or read or made aware of or cannot even verify (honestly, why would I think people I have never met, who are from another country, will talk excessively about me? I have never had any inclination to think that I was a hot topic of discussion by virtual strangers), apparently people are spreading lies about me behind my back and accusing me of doing things I have not done. So I will be posting a separate post explaining and clarifying things on my end and also to address a certain admin post made here.

So again, I would like to apologize to @batuuprincess for the mistake I made. Again, I did not post that intentionally, but accidentally. I took it down as soon as I was made aware of it. I also personally messaged @batuuprincess immediately to apologize when I learned about the post and explained to her.

*Please refer below the cut how a reblog on the tumblr app on mobile looks like. As you can see, the picture roll shows the snake head that I received from the Viber group chat from my family. Pics that I receive on Viber is automatically stored in a folder for Viber on my gallery (along with images from Discord or Google hangouts, WhatsApp) and it automatically registers on the picture roll whenever a reblog will be made on tumblr mobile app because the tumblr mobile app shows the latest pics added to my gallery, whether it’s taken from my cam or screenshots I took or images shared to me through other apps.

WARNING: The picture below the cut is gory so please proceed with caution.

June 28, 1969. 🏳️‍🌈

The Stonewall riots (also referred to as the Stonewall uprising or the Stonewall rebellion) were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations by members of the LGBT community in response to a police raid that began in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, NYC. Patrons of the Stonewall, other Village lesbian and gay bars, and neighborhood street people fought back when the police became violent. The riots are widely considered to constitute one of the most important events leading to the LGBT liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights.

“There is no Pride for some of us without liberation for ALL of us” - Marsha P. Johnson

These past few weeks have been painful for all of us, more so for Black people than any other community.  Celebrating anything right now, let alone Pride, might make you feel guilty or uncomfortable, but it’s more important than ever to have these discussions. Pride is more than a parade or a celebration. The spirit of Pride stems from protesting for equal rights.

The first Pride was a revolution ignited by the participants in the Stonewall uprising fighting back against police brutality. Black and brown trans women have always been at the forefront in the battle for LGBTQIA+ rights, with Marsha P. Johnson, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, Storme DeLarverie, and Sylvia Rivera emerging as prominent activists. With that in mind, it’s important we use Pride month as an opportunity to amplify Black and brown voices and fight racism within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Not everyone is able to take to the streets in protest or has money to donate, but there are still ways the Tumblr community can unite and make a difference. That’s why we created #ActsofPride, an action list for this Pride month.

We hope these prompts offer you an opportunity to learn, reflect, speak out, spark conversations at home, to lift up our Black and brown peers, to experience Pride through an intersectional lens. Think of this as a nurturing space for self-expression. Or use it to reflect upon how Pride’s revolutionary history can drive a future where the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies commit to keeping this fight and conversation going on a daily basis and not just when it dominates the headlines.

Take care of yourself, look out for your friends, make your voice heard, and most importantly, have a happy Pride!

This is incredible! At first i was like hmm that doesn’t sound like music, then the dude drops the beat hard.

Full video (4:33) here!

How the fuck does the beginning not sound like music? ALL of this is good.

(Cough) like not to play favorites with streaming services or anything but they’re on Pandora

Powerful statements like these, that juxtapose the condemnation of such a simple and pure thing as love with the honour and worship of violence and death, always hit me hard and stay with me for days

This is the tombstone of Technical Sergeant Leonard Philip Matlovich, the first gay service member to intentionally out himself in order to fight the ban on gay people in the military. He hadn’t only served for Vietnam, he was a career Air Force member in good standing who would have liked to continue his career even though he knew coming out would most likely make that impossible. He’d also been an elder in the LDS church but was excommunicated

He was on the cover of Time magazine in 1975 which was the first time an openly gay person appeared on the cover of a U.S. magazine and had their name printed in that magazine

He was an advocate for AIDs/HIV patients from the start of the outbreak in the 70s. He contracted the virus in 1986 and died 2 years later

His name doesn’t appear on his tombstone because he wanted it to be a memorial for all gay veterans
