Another flawless victory.

Description:  An illustration of the battle weary sailor scouts, in varying states of disarray, sitting, slumping, and lying on a bench and each other.  Except for Moon, who has chosen the ground in the back.

sometimes i see people say “indigenous people” as if it’s a big homogeneous group with one core belief set like “oh well indigenous people believed that…” what all of them? all of the unbelievably large amount of different indigenous peoples from around the entire planet who all have wildly different histories and beliefs and stories? all of them? damn that’s crazy

literally

The more or less finished model of the Mr. Long Alien Wolf ~

What a weird creature it is! I think this is one of my favorite models I've made so far. (WIPs I shared some time ago)

These guys don't have detailed story or lore (yet?), though I shared a bit about them under one of my illustrations. With this model, I tried to shape their realistic appearance, following my idea of a very thin (it's the old idea of my world that almost all its creatures are weirdly long and thin) and alien canine-like creature, which isn't actually canine.

It's also fun to compare them to Solfshein, likely related arctic species which is much heavier and fuffier.

YOU FUCKING RENDERED THIS???????!?!!!!!!?

man it’s crazy that theoretically everyone gets delevelled to 1 by being infected by the tadpole. that’s crazy. they don’t talk about this enough. i’m sure i’ve said this before and i don’t talk about this enough. if you have to regain stat increases? regain both magical and non-magical abilities? if you’re a battlemaster out here forgetting your learned forms of attack, or a summoner who’s going to take levels and levels to get their previously constant companions back, or a wizard who had years of study gone in an instant? a bard whose expertise fails them, a rogue who can’t evade like they used to, a monk who can’t recreate stillness of mind? an arcane trickster or eldritch knight who finds themself on the nautiloid unable to cast a single spell? that would mess you up. and theoretically it is literally just brain damage caused by the tadpole revoking their mental and physical faculties?

on the other hand i think this makes levelling up have the potential for being really fun & sweet in-world. because you should know you’re able to do these things, and tell your friends you think you’re picking it back up, and then when you pull off the spell or ability in front of them they should be like holy shit you got it!! i feel like half the conversation around the campfire all game would be either showing off recovery milestones or complaining about waiting on the biggest stuff. there’s also dramatic potential for re-figuring something out mid-fight right when you’re desperately in need of it, but more importantly i would be dragging everyone out of their tents all the time to be like “i just relearned fireball and if you don’t all clap and cheer i will fireball YOU”
