But this is about censorship in an archive.
I am extremely passionate about the preservation of information.
Even from a basic ethical standpoint, if you create an archive dedicated to preserving fanworks, you cannot simply turn around and start deleting "problematic" works from said archive.

I really don't know how to explain to the people who want to censor AO3 that they're literally parroting the same conservative logic that has caused hundreds of books challenges in schools over books containing queer content and that has drafted laws that would allow the arrest of librarians for providing books with queer content to minors and that has led to lawsuits of actual *bookstores* over selling books with queer content to minors
Watching early Clone Wars seasons with a 9 year old (the intended audience) without making comments of my own is very eye opening. Kid brother was laughing so hard at Ki-Adi's joke in Point Rain. He's got nothing negative to say about Luminara, or the Jedi. He immediately noticed that the Geonosian holograms are red whereas the Jedi's are blue, and infered it was on purpose to show the Geonosians are the bad guys. He was freaking repulsed by the bugs because we're meant to be. He laughs when droids make silly comments before dying because droids are silly and it's not that deep in the show. He got that Luminara outranked Anakin just by observing that she looks/feel a lot wiser and more experienced.
Kid is really out there experiencing Star Wars with zero fandom/cultural poisoning the way it was meant to. We may overanalyse the crap out of the franchise but at the end of the day it's humbling to remember kids are more likely to get it than we are because it was created for them.

obi wan was my fave character before I got involved in the fandom bc he was always breaking/bending the rules & had such a big heart & was a bit of a bitch so imagine my surprise when I found out some people think he’s a straight laced stick in the mud who is responsible for anakin turning to the dark side 😶😶😶😶
a couple of more thoughts on Merlin:
I actually enjoyed the finale. Correct me if I’m wrong but, don’t most of Arthurian legends end up with King Arthur either dead or missing? So he can return when Albion needs him the most? I thought that was the obvious way to end the show since I started it, and I really liked how they handled things in the end.
