I have been completely sure that I already posted this photo here, but today I have found out that it seems isn’t present!..
Wishing a Happy 102nd Birthday to Dame Olivia de Havilland, born 1 July 1916
Her first film appearance was in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1935 and her last was 44 years later with The Fifth Musketeer in 1979. In between came the films for which she is best remembered: the historical romances with Errol Flynn, Gone With the Wind, and her Oscar-winning performances in To Each His Own and The Heiress. Though retired and living in Paris, she has remained active in the film community.
“I couldn’t remember my name for weeks. I’d be at the theater and hear them calling, “Miss Stanwyck, Miss Stanwyck”, and I’d think, ‘Where is that dame? Why doesn’t she answer? By crickey, it’s me!’” Young Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Catherine Stevens) by Mitchell Studios NY, 1926. This portrait was taken the year that she changed her name while working as an actress on Broadway.
