In TOS “The Apple,” the inhabitants waste NO time slapping their prom corsages on the landing party. Spock complains right to their faces that his makes him uncomfortable. Kirk is slightly more gracious, waiting until after they go back to the hut to apparently discard any memory whatsoever of his.
Bones, though? Keeps his right where they left it. No complaints, no questions. No snark. He just rolls with it. This was a gift, and dammit, he’s going to wear it.
Look at this man. I have zero doubt that Joanna painted his nails in glitter AT LEAST once and he wore it all week proudly.
