"you only deserve food and shelter if you contribute to society" says people living in countries where nobody's labor actually feeds or benefits their neighbors anymore but exclusively benefits the companies keeping the food and shelter behind the artificial paywalls

You're not nomads relying on each other to hunt and gather anymore, you're talking about stocking shelves for fucking wal marts

And even the oldest societies on earth all took care of the elderly or sick anyway

Me: So for once, I think it's important to the character I'm playing that she's hetero. Usually, it's not relevant or my characters are bi like me, but this time, it's psychologically significant that my character is a massive Straight.
Audience members: Wow, you and this other female character were giving us extreme bisexuality. We thought you were gonna bone.

or

"Sorry I snapped at you. I didn't get enough sleep last night so my patience is a little low today."

is a better apology than

"I want you to know that I am sorry that my actions offended you. I take full accountability for my actions and I am listening and learning. I hear you."

like if you've already established that you understand you were wrong and hurt them then you aren't trying to justify anything! reflecting on your actions and understanding why you fucked up is step 1 of not fucking up again!

and with this whole "no emotions you need to sound like a robot or your apology is null and void" like yeah its possible to overdo it and end up making it all about you but like. I wanna know that you're actually sorry! which involves a little sharing emotions?

idk like quit treating interpersonal conflicts like corporations making public statements. an apology is supposed to be a two-way conversation and it really sounds like some of you just want people to prostrate themselves at your feet and grovel which is. weird. ngl.

Every time I read some reddit AITA or r/relationships post that says "so now my girlfriend's entire family is ~blowing up my phone~ saying I'm the asshole," I'm just like... there cannot be people who live like this.

reminder this pride month that disabled people in the US on SSI and SSDI do not have the same marriage equality as people not on SSI and SSDI. its called the marriage penalty.

by getting married, a disabled person can lose their income, benefits, and health insurance.

if a disabled person marries an able bodied person, and combined their assets are $3000 or over they will lose all benefits, including medicaid (health insurance).

if a disabled person marries a disabled person, their assistance is lowered 25%.

we don’t have marriage equality until all disabled marriages are equal.

#realizing if my partner and I got married his medications alone woulf cost $400 per month#yes that's with insurance it's called a copay#right now they're free because he has access to medicaid#he had tens of thousands of dollars of medical care last year and if we'd been married we would have been fucked#some of the disability resources are only available to medicaid recipients#because of cooooooooouuuuuurse a disabled person couldn't be married /s
