The things I will never tell

If reincarnation is real I wonder how many people stare at their own art in museums, listen to their own music they made in a different life and read books they don't remember writing

every day i get my heart ripped out & every day i simply just continue

so much unprocessed grief so little human contact something more happens something awful or sad & you think you don't even have any room left to ache properly you let yourself have one quick sob & u plunge your hands back into the sink & wash the dishes & the next day it's the same. more of the same

growing up a girl letting people do things to you for years and years and years means your anger will turn biblical. anger that is incoherent unidentifiable inconsolable

characters who view themselves as tools/weapons first and people second... characters who martyr themselves for a cause because they think that's the only way they can be worth something... characters who push themselves past their breaking point again and again and again... characters for whom devotion and masochism are inseparable... characters whose self-sacrifice becomes self-annihilation...... what was my point again? i had a point. anyway.

when margaret atwood said "i'm not the sea i'm not pure blue, i don't have to take anything yout throw into me." and when ursula k. le guin said "you cannot make the revolution. you can only be the revolution. it is in your spirit, or it is nowhere." and when elizabeth gracely said "before i am your daughter, your sister, your aunt, niece or cousin, i am my own person, and i will not set fire to myself to keep you warm." and when jennifer donnolley said "for mad i may be, but i will never be convinient." and when khaled hosseini said "like a compass facing north, a man's accusing finger always finds a woman. always." and when chimamamda ngozi adichie said "we teach girls shame. we make them feel as though being born female, they're already guilty of something. they grow up to be women who cannot say what they truly think."

i think the whole "coworkers arent you friends" thing fucking sucks man. aside from the fact that enjoying the people you spend a major portion of your life around like actually improves your attitude, it is so dangerous for companies for their workers to be like. engaging with each other personally. you know like. unifying. unionizing. im not saying force your relationships at work but like. maybe engage a little more
