What should Rey have done differently to get Ben back?

Rey made one really crucial mistake. Impatience. Slow and steady win the race. You can NOT undo years of abuse and mental manipulation in a single night. Snoke spent YEARS twisting his mind to the dark side, and it took something drastic for Ben Solo to finally make up his mind.

Snoke torturing Rey was definitely a trigger as far as his switch in loyalties, but he’s still a man who believes in this cause. Rey was under the impression Kylo doesn’t have any other aspirations than to rid himself of this loneliness. She was dead wrong. She never bothered to actually hear his views on this war or his part in it.

She does not know who the fuck Ben Solo is, or how he came to the conclusion that he’s the man capable of bringing peace to the galaxy. If she had been patient she might have realized his convictions, and been able to persuade him back to the light. Make him come to her. Ben Solo ran away once, and I think his feelings for her over time would have pushed him to do it again.

I don't really think it's a matter of giving up. I think it's a matter of being exhausted. I'm exhausted by the grounder plot, I'm exhausted by Clarke's ark-which hasn't really moved from where she was in S3 imho- I'm exhausted that our delinquents don't get enough screen time. Bellarke included. I don't care if they don't become romantic this season. I never have. But to have a scene as hyped and charged as 4.11 then NOTHING. I just- I'm tired :( I know you get it, I guess I'm venting. Xoxoxo

i totally get it. if you’ve seen any of my post from last night i was a tried™ and exhausted™ bean. i think they’re putting too much focus on the wrong plots and the pacing is making me tired and they’re really suffering from not having those extra 3 episodes this season. 

i really miss season 1 and 2, as i know most people do, when the plot was simple and the characters were well developed and made sense. they’re just trying to make the show too big and too just extra and that’s not what makes it great, its the characters that do that.

i say time and time again how much elements of this show remind me of the x-files like blarke being so similar to msr and jroth and cc both being trash men, but another thing is the way they handle the characters v plot dynamic.

cc (the xfiles show runner) always thought the show was so popular because of the “mythology” it had and because the grand alien episodes were so great, and he didn’t understand - still doesn’t understand - that people watched it and loved it so much because of the dynamic between mulder and scully and because of the simpler episodes. and i think that’s what jroth is suffering through with the 100.

he just doesn’t get that none of us care about these huge plots or the giant productions they keep graduating through. he doesn’t get that what we care about is the characters. we loved the simplicity of a bunch of teenagers stranded at the dropship trying to survive. thats what we cared about. not huge, complicated plots about a second apocalypse and a crazy ai.

he’s sacrificing character development and realistic relationships for a big plot and crazy twists. thats why so many of us are so tired, because that’s not what we’re here for. 

the same with msr and blarke. they don’t get that so many people are here for the ship and that stretching it out for 6-7 years and calling it platonic doesn’t fucking work.

i just need them to get their shit together and realize the money is in the delinquents and not these dumb huge plot lines they keep half ass writing and dragging out. 

i'm worried that when bellarke happens it'll be shit because the writers will still be up L/xa's ass

If I’m write about the purpose behind all of the L/xa mentions….then the writers aren’t as up L/xa’s ass as we thought.
