Why does this give so much nostalgia

Desi! Harry Headcanons

So I’ve seen like a million desi Harry Potter headcanons but around 90% of them are inaccurate. Sooooo I decided to make my own!

- Harry having pierced ears with tiny gold studs in them that he never, ever takes out.

- The Patil twins approaching harry and asking him if he was Indian. (Cause Indians just have like a 6th sense to find other Indians.)

- Harry replying to them shocked and asking how they knew. (And finding out about afore mentioned 6th sense.)

- Them asking him at around the end of September what new skill he planned to start learning on Vijaya Dashami.

- Harry being confused and asking the twins what that meant.

- Their faces falling when they realise how uneducated he was about Indian culture.

- Them explaining all about Navratri and how the goddess Durga slayed the demon Mahishasura.

- Harry and Parvati discussing nothing but Indian culture, epics, mythology and food while in the Gryffindor common room.

- Padma asking the house elves to make a TON of jalebis, kaju kathlis, laddoos, barfis, samosas, pakodas and so many other Indian sweet and savory dishes on every single minor and major festival.

- Harry requesting Padma to ask one of the 6th or 7th year Ravenclaws to transfigure some diyas the night before the first day of Diwali.

- Him taking Parvati’s help to place them all around their common room and even a few inside the dorms.

- Harry receiving a Rakhi from Hermione on Rakshabandhan during the summer holidays.

- Hermione getting a gift from him the next day with a heartwarming letter that makes her tear up.

- The Weasleys getting him a humongous book of Indian recipes on Christmas.

- Ron being the first one to defend him when Malfoy calls him a “Paki terrorist”.

- Harry having to tell Ron to calm down for an hour.

- Sirius making Harry Pongal with sambaar one day in Grimmauld Place. (Cause he use to practically live with James and Lily after they graduated so of course he knows how to make Indian food.)

- Harry and Ginny having 2 weddings, one in a church and one in a mandapa in Srirangam.

- (I know this isn’t related but-) Lily’s full name as Lily Minerva Potter cause MCGONNAGALL DESERVED MORE CREDIT DAMMIT!

- His second child’s name being Achyuth Srikanth Potter instead of Albus Severus.

- Cause he grew up not knowing a single thing about his culture till he got to Hogwarts.

- And he didn’t want to do the same to his kids.

- The 5 of them (+ Teddy) going to India for at least a couple of weeks every year during the summer holidays.

So that’s it!
