Contrary to many sci-fi fans who say it's unrealistic, I actually think a united Earth is not only possible, but a logical conclusion. It won't be an easy or peaceful union, but once capitalism stretches to its inevitable end (sooner or later) and there is an actual working international socialist project, there will be eventually a world state (not nation, state). Who knows what happens after, but I think this is something my grandchildren will live to see, if only in its initial stages.

In fact, it's funny because in Campoestela, which is suppossed to kind of have the retro feel of space opera, I have all these factions which would be considered "realistic" to a point. While in the Biopunks, which is on the style of more modern sci-fi, there is a strong implication that Earth is in the first stages of uniting into a world goverment, if not already there, and moreover, that thinking beings, now able to guide evolution, are becoming the true "nervous system" of the biosphere and whoops I just spoiled other plot point instead of showing you in writing sorry.

(Coincidentally, most of those fans who say a united world is unrealistic I've encountered are Usamerican. And well, no offense but I've seen the average Usamerican attitude to the rest of the world...)

Rewatching 60 Days In and I feel like every season and every jail has had an issue with some or in some cases most of the people sent to the Women’s Units are given linens that have large stains from dried menstrual blood and are just supposed to sleep with that and it’s obviously directly related to how inmates are provided like 3-5 free pads a month so they’re just forced to free bleed onto their sheets that another person is going to use and the laundry barely cleans anything sent to it and it’s wild how this is just like, a totally normal thing in the United States corrections system apparently

Lovely how there's just blogs like "hello I'm the ecofascism blog. I just love ecofascism so much! We need to retvrn to primitivism just like all of those indigenous people who were like super primitive and had no civilization or agriculture or technology (totally not racist because I think it's a good thing)! Abandon your technology now! Don't be silly nuclear power and renewables are useless and the only way to save the planet is by somehow wiping out all industrial production and everyone who relies on modern medicine along with it! Yes this is a totally sane and normal position and btw did you read this book by a guy who lived in a cabin in the woods and made mail bombs yet?" and then tumblr anarchists will just reblog this shit either because they saw some edgy post by the ecofascism blog that said some vaguely leftist shit or because they just straight up agree with a lot of the views of the ecofascism blog. Like it's startling how many tumblr anarchists are straight up anprims at this point.

Sorry but this image continue to be true

I think people need to be more comfortable with illegalism and I’m not kidding. Of course the more legal something is, the safer and easier it is to do, but the more people who disregard the law, the harder it is to enforce. There are plenty of laws on the books that people just ignore and are never or rarely policed.

Becoming more comfortable with little illegal activities makes you more comfortable with bigger more important illegal activities. Additionally, it is crucial to build a wall of silence. Nobody talks everybody walks.

People who give out food without a permit, hold a march without a permit, grow a garden without a permit, are more likely to be people you could turn to to work with on preventing an eviction, or keeping people out of cop hands, or helping your friend Jane get crucial healthcare when it’s not legal in your state.

Communities comfortable with these acts won’t call the cops, and then nobody knows that it’s happening.

People have got to shift from both the idea that lawful = good/ illegal = bad, and that the illegality of something means that’s the end of it, and the only fight left is to make it legal again.

It’s been so long since i said it but if you live with homophobic/transphobic parents no matter if you’re a minor or a young adult don’t come out <3

I don’t care if you guys do it to feel validated by other young gays, your comminity doesn’t want you putting themselves in harm’s way just to “live their truth” we want you alive

“It’s 2022 it’s not that big deal anymore!!” If your parents are biggots it matters, 2022 is not discriminatory free, if you’re able to hide it from them don’t think it twice and risk it all because your gay friends told you you weren’t really gay if you hadn’t come out

I’d honestly argue that - regardless of your age - if you would be in danger from people you live with or your well-being would be threatened, don’t come out to them. (Especially when various older people have had to move back in with parents because of the economy/COVID/etc.)

Homophobic parents paying for college? Hang in there and get your degree. Setting up your awesome new life and living on your own will be a whole lot easier if you can avoid having to deal with student loans.

you do not owe anyone a truth they will hurt you for.
