An aspect of my interpretation of Death-T is Seto was also trying to sabotage Kaiba Corporation itself—he was sabotaging everything.
Kaiba Corporation was like the phantom of his dead step-father and a kind of prison. The company was a chain to Gozaburo in Seto’s heart. And while this is a later reveal, it’s absolutely relevant: at Duelist Kingdom we discover five grown men surrounding Seto at this company were eager to wrest control from him and we also discover that Pegasus, his company’s new business partner and Seto’s flicker of hope to enter the gaming world, had already been using intimidation tactics on Seto. Seto is afraid here and Pegasus wanted him afraid:
This doesn’t excuse Death-T. But my reading is Seto was grieving for Gozuburo and at the same time he was repulsed by these feelings. Death-T was the bizarre manifestation of this storm of emotions: he was enacting Gozaburo’s teachings to an unhinged draconian extreme while simultaneously sabotaging the corporation Gozaburo shaped, the corporation Seto’s soul was sold for (Seto’s own words), and the corporation Seto (feels he) murdered Gozaburo for.
People joke about Kaiba Corporation’s investors being baffled by Death-T. For my interpretation, that was literally the point.

i think we’re ignoring an aspect of seto kaiba’s obsession with impractical duel monster/bewd crap. and that aspect is: kaiba corp is a former military arms company. that seto has now turned into, of all things, a game company. half of all ygo seasons have some sort of plot involving people who are Very Unhappy with seto about it and who Will Kill Him for it. which turns all of his ridiculous technology (blue eyes white jet, the holo technology, duel blimp™️, his fucking jetpack, etc.) into absolute spite inventions that send every previous military contract, investor, and board member kc ever had absolutely batshit.
Okay but was there ANY reason to change this line in the dub other than to make Kaiba look like an INSANE ASSHOLE?
Sub-Mokuba: I heard what you said, but we can’t leave. The ship can’t fly. The engine’s aren’t working. But I’ll contact Kaiba Corporation to send a helicopter!
Dub-Mokuba: We’re not moving Joey anywhere right now. Those orders came from Seto. He says our own doctors are good enough. Besides, our engines are damaged and we can’t move.
(Hey 4Kids, you know, it’s kinda fucked up to make an 11-year-old kid look like he’s torn up about carrying out his ruthless brother’s insane orders, when in reality he’s upset because he can’t help his friend. Someone who, I might add, has saved both his and his brother’s lives in the past.)
