The best lyric I think I’ve ever written, and I think the fan favorite, is from a song called ‘Colors’.
It’s about a person who gets affected by their partner in a relationship and then their partner leaves them because of the person they’ve become. When, you know, the other person made them that way.
It’s a really personal lyric.
I’ve learned a lot in the past year. I’ve learned to accept what happens and that no matter how awful it seems at the time it’s happening for a reason. I’ve learned that people are put into your life for a reason, and sometimes that reason is a lot bigger than you’ll ever know. I’ve learned that friends aren’t supposed to be forever, that friends just help each other get to the next part of their lives then move on. I’ve learned that just because someone makes a promise, doesn’t mean they’ll keep it. I’ve learned that life is supposed to be hard because nothing easy is ever worth it. But most important of all I’ve learned that fate is real. the things you do the people you meet the choices you make you’re supposed to make them. the hell you’re put through is only making you stronger, and that person that was put in your life is there for a reason. I’ve learned that everyone is just walking a path that’s set out for them and yes we all have choices to make, but we were always going to make them. there really is someone you’re destined to be with and you will find them. fate is real. love is real. you just have to look for it.
