James Monroe Iglehart

Theatre actor, James Monroe Iglehart, played the Genie in Aladdin for three years to much acclaim, highlighted by a Tony Award in 2014 for his performance.

In spring 2017, James moved a few blocks north from Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd Street, to the Richard Rodgers Theatre where he will take over the role of Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton.

He’s big (6’, 300lbs), beautiful, and it’s wonderful to see this California boy finally owning New York.
