They see the wolf in you and love it too.

Star Trek, Dimension 20, whatever i vibe with on the dashboard. TERFs get fucked. Liz. 26. She/Her.

*hits the blunt* yugioh was propaganda because the season they opened the anime with in the US started by making you pity yugi for losing his exodia cards in like, the second episode i think it was. basically this fuck has a huge unfair advantage over everyone else in the world and is planning to use it to win a cash tournament. but you’re supposed to feel bad for him when he loses that advantage and ends up on an even playing field because the cards are “his property”. exodia is capital and yugi moto is the bourgeoisie

and kids are meant to think “wow id hate it if i had exodia and i lost it. i could have exodia someday so for some reason i empathize with that situation” it’s literally capital

Luke ur literally misreading this entire fucking thing cuz kaiba is literally a fucking CEO and he’s the villain. this show is anticapitalist…yugi losing the exodia cards is actually about how the proletariat loses the true value of their labor under the surplus theory of value

ok listen up though yugi literally gets possessed by the spirit of a pharaoh and inherited the exodia cards from his grandfather they are clearly a metaphor for the divine right of kings under feudalism and weevil is the bourgeois revolutionaries overthrowing feudalism. only joey wheeler, the true hero of the proletariat, can

Does the manga count because I’d love to see how Joey getting tortured to the brink of death by his former gang fits into this

Yeah they string him up and start tasing him until he can’t scream any more (because he’s lost coordination enough that he can’t breathe properly) and Yami shows up to save him with one of his death games and electrocutes them all to death

Which makes them some of Yami’s more deserving victims, this guy once exploded a high school senior for poaching a table that Yugi’s class wanted to use for the school fair. At least these guys were committing murder.

I’m trying to find the panels but googling variations of “jounouchi being tortured” isn’t bringing up anything relevant (RIP my search history). I didn’t dream this storyline did I? Can some yu-gi-oh fan get in here and tell me my brain didn’t make this up?

I skimmed through some of the manga and while I didn’t see that exact scene Jounouchu was badly beaten at least twice, once by a fellow student who claimed to be protecting Yugi from him and Honda (and consequently was the Pharaoh’s first victim) and later by a group stealing his fancy sneakers.

Edit: Naturally I found it right after writing that, it’s Chapter 12: The Wild Gang (part 2). The same story established that Jounouchu’s father is an abusive drunk, so yeah, coming mostly from the anime Id not realized just how rough his life was in the original >_<

I KNEW IT WAS REAL

Thank you

2014 Tumblr wasn’t about whatever Tik Tok thinks it was about. 2014 Tumblr was about overanalyzing Captain America: The Winter Soldier and that one website that let you play Cards Against Humanity online

And it slapped

  • me on a date: tell me your thoughts on 2014 tumblr them: oh that place? lol that was so cringe I- me, shoving breadsticks into my purse: I have to go
  • secret government agent: *punches me in the face* SAY IT! me: no government agent: say 2014 tumblr was cringe and the new culture is better! me: *spits blood at the agent’s feet* fuck you
  • “[whatever Tik Tok thinks it was about]” I came out to have a good time and I’m honestly feeling so attacked right now
  • because 2014 tumblr had the best snemes (snake snail memes)
  • none of you denying it now would survive the Skeleton War
  • Beautiful Internet Era Too Good For This World, Too Pure
  • girls don’t want boys, girls want a return to actually wholesome memes
  • when I die I want 2020s tumblr to lower me into my grave so you can let me down one last time
  • I will climb 90-post-per-day blog archives to find 2014 tumblr content. I crave that mineral
  • this post is the real last meme of 2014
  • “average site spawns 3 iconic memes a year” factoid actualy just statistical error. average site spawns 0 iconic memes per year. 2014 tumblr, which lived outside Plato’s cave & spawned over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
“Mulvaney said in her Thursday video that she used to have the gifted personalized can around her house, but she realized she had to “protect it” and “hid it so well” she can no longer find it. Once she does, however, she joked the can “needs to go in a museum, preferably behind bullet-proof glass.” “I’m bringing it up because what transpired from that video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined,” she said, while fighting back tears. “I was scared of more backlash, and I felt personally guilty for what transpired, so I patiently waited for things to get better. But surprise! They haven’t really.” “I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did,” she added. An Anheuser-Busch spokesperson told The Daily Beast in a statement that the company remains “committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.” The statement did not, however, mention Mulvaney.”

I love reading a book you are slightly too stupid for

ways to keep reading despite feeling stupid because the tags you all keep adding have made me realize that my post is being used to self harm:

  • recognize that stupidity is a cultural concept leveraged against stigmatized populations who operate from devalued spheres of intelligence
  • notice feelings of panic and shame and frustration rising in your body when you encounter a difficult text, react to them like a loving friend who thinks you deserve to learn things
  • recognize the conditioning it takes to convince someone they are too stupid to deserve to learn things
  • go back and read a difficult text whose meaning and nuances escaped you the first time around after you read two or three more and the first one has had time to cook in your brain
  • open your brain’s mouth like a whale shark and cruise through the water digesting anything that gets caught in your filter plates

it should be illegal to tow a car as punishment and i’m not even kidding

you park in the wrong spot somewhere. maybe at a friend’s apartment complex, or at a store when you’re actually walking somewhere else, or whatever. they could ticket you—still charge you a fine for parking where you’re not supposed to. but instead, in a far more crippling way than a fine (which is already hard enough for low income people), they call a third party and steal your car. so you have lost your means of transportation, which you will only learn the next time you need your car, because they don’t have any need or care to notify you.

so first, you have to figure out which towing company they used. which you can only do if the place that decided your car was in the wrong spot is still open, or if you can get someone on the phone.

assuming you figure out which company towed your car, which one time took me over an hour on its own because the number on the signs warning about towing in the parking lot was a dead number, you then have to figure out how to get there. without a car. god help you if you don’t have someone in your support network to pick you up or public transportation, because most of the time it’s at least a mile away.

you find a way to get there, you call them to see if your car is even really there, and they tell you they won’t give your car back until you pay them. how much? well, it’s not regulated, so they can pretty much say whatever number they goddamn feel like. i recently got towed by a company infamous in my college town and they charged me a whopping $180–half of my paycheck for two weeks during the school year. when the same company towed my brother last year, and we both have the same sized cars, they charged him $300. they don’t have to justify the charge, they don’t have any itemized receipt, because what are you going to do? not pay it? you have to get to work and you’re already short on time because you had to walk to the goddamn towing place or have someone come get you to bring you there or spend an hour on the phone with different people trying to figure out where the fuck your car was in the first place.

it’s extortionate. it’s absolutely insane that they can, without exaggeration, steal someone’s car and hold it for ransom under the assumption that you will pay anything to get it back, because of the extent to which our society is dependent on cars.

Honestly I'm just so happy about the progression of Link and Zelda's relationship in totk from botw. It feels so natural. They've both matured, they're very much their own people with their own goals and lives and skills. They're not just the hero and princess anymore: they get to be themselves. And they get to do that together. They're making choices, and not just rolling with the path that destiny has set forth for them.

They're not the only saviors: there's the sages of course, but there's also every single person in Hyrule standing up to evil and saying no, not this time.

It feels like Hyrule is saying to them "you save the world. And while you're doing that, we'll save ourselves."

The story is grown up. From the fierce independence of adolescence to the interdependent care of adulthood. And they're doing it together: caring about people together. Saving the world together.

I really love this game y'all.

I got these vibes even from the final trailer and I'm very glad to see it carried through throughout the whole game. NPCs are much more proactive and independent (from the admittedly-low-bar we've been conditioned to expect from video games) and they're starting businesses, falling in love, organizing to defend their homes - even without your intervention. It's a world that's been growing in reflection with our protagonists.

oh I didn't realize you used to be a huge piece of shit

now this may surprise some of the audience, but the majority of humans have to survive a phase called "being a teenager" and the results are often catastrophic

oh yeah I can see how the original post left some room for interpretation there. for transparency's sake, the context of this post is that I accidentally killed my brother with a sword

S'cuse me?
