This shows attention to detail was unreal.

Even the fall backwards! That looks like the exact kind of thing a fun loving Airbender kid would do while showing off gliders and airbending proficiency.

the best benders in this show tend to be the ones who adapt elements of other bending techniques. Bumi has some airbender-y movements, Zuko and Iroh use some Air and Water movements, even Katara tends to use some earthbender looking moves when bending ice

Meanwhile Toph just took earthbending and cranked it all the way up to 11.

take into account that Toph might not be able to take other bending styles into her own. Because those styles (especially fire and air) require you to lift your feet off the ground and for Toph she would lose her way of connecting to the world like he’s used too.

so insane that percy canonically gets chased by something wants to kill him and he passes by others who look at him like "you need help?" and he just shouts "I'M FINE! I'M GOOD!" while running for his life like this is actual canon event not just some comedic headcanon i love him so much

What people don't realize about this scene was that he was actually fine.

Percy had a plan, and getting Polybetes to follow him was a calculated move.

Right before he started running, Percy dealt Polybetes a blow that would've killed him if he was a normal monster. Keep in mind that this was the first blow Percy gave Polybetes (if I remember correctly). Percy wasn't struggling to defend himself. He was deflecting the poison easily, as if it was instinct, as if it was as easy as controlling water.

The only reason why Percy couldn't defeat Polybetes nearly instantly with that blow was because of the technicality that giants need a god and demigod working together to be killed.

So knowing this, Percy makes a plan: get Polybetes to Terminus, so Percy and Terminus can satisfy the requirement of needing both a god and demigod to kill a giant.

Percy doesn't waste anytime. He runs, not because he's scared or forced into fleeing, but because he has a plan and he needs Polybetes to follow him to Terminus. And the faster Polybetes is killed, the better right?

I’m ready to die on this hill too sister. The hilarious thing is that percy doesn’t share his strategies with the reader or the other characters.

So everybody is left out seeing the consequences. And as we know he looks like a crazy person because of it.

that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.
