Hope y’all had a blessed solstice! I started this last night but got too sleepy to finish it lol. But I got out to see the sunset and it was cold but lovely. :-)

[ID: a symmetrical illustration of a black vulture flying behind a stylized sun, with rays coming out like ribbons. There is an ermine above it and a stoat below it, mirroring one another, and the background is a patterned radial design in teal, with orange accents. End.]

It breaks my heart to see how underrated pigeons are. The fact that we had literally domesticated them, making them absolutely dependent on us and now that we've abandoned them, we treat them poorly when they try to coexist with us. It's our responsibility for how they have adapted, how they can't build nests and how they try to find food wherever we are. Please be nice to pigeons

Green Jays (Cyanocorax luxuosus), family Corvidae, Laguna Seca Ranch, Edinburg, Texas, USA

  • Some ornithologists consider the Green Jay to be a subspecies of the Inca Jay, C. yncas, but most now consider the Green Jay to be a separate spceis.
