Give Hooty love you cowards

@little-bullheaded-shit

Call me Shiny, (21) Expect Transformers, The Owl House, other cartoons, memes, and whatever else. This blog is a horny bonk zone (meaning there is no horny posting as I'm Ace). open to make friends. Seriously, send me shitposts or rant to me.

y’all if your blog looks anything like this:

you really should change your icon, title, or ideally, both.

that is what bots look like! even if you have posts on your blog, it’s very hard to distinguish an actual user from a bot if your blog looks like one in the above photo.

i block bots and i really don’t wanna accidentally block an actual person, but if you follow me and you have a blog that looks like that, there’s a good chance that you’ll get blocked.

also another important note: don’t just change your description or header or blog colors. make sure you change the icon or blog title, cause when someone is looking at their follower list, this is all they see:

we just see the icon and title, so it’s best to change those that way no one has to go through your blog to try and figure out if your a bot or not.

The Animation Guild Announces Unionization Efforts At Warner Bros. And Cartoon Network

"Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network production workers are attempting to unionize with The Animation Guild (TAG).

A petition was filed with the National Labor Relations Board today requesting a union election. The petition includes 66 staffers at Warner Bros. Animation and 22 at Cartoon Network, including roles like production manager, digital production assistant, IT technician, production coordinator, production assistant, design production coordinator, assistant production manager and senior assistant production manager.

They are involved in such Warner Bros. projects as Batman: The Caped CrusaderHarley Quinn and Teen Titans Go! and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time: Fionna and CakeWe Baby Bears and Craig of the Creek.

The workers also requested voluntary recognition from management at the Warner Bros. Discovery subsidiaries.

A tweet was issued confirming the move, which was officially announced earlier on a joint Zoom call.

“Although many might not think it, production is a specialized skill; we might not be artists or writers, but what we bring to the table goes beyond traditional creativity and gets content on the air,” Warner Bros. Animation production manager Hannah Ferenc said in a statement about the organization effort. “Having lived through the existing state of the animation industry for the past seven years, I want to make sure that not only our current workers, but all those who choose to join us in the future, can feel secure in following their passion by earning livable wages and being treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

The Animation Guild has already established bargaining units on shows like Rick and MortySolar Opposites, The SimpsonsFamily Guy and American Dad!  It also is active at studios like Titmouse New York and L.A. and ShadowMachine. Establishment at Walt Disney Animation Studios is currently in progress."

Here's some notes on some of the upper body muscles so you, artist, don't need to look them up

They are not medically accurate, just enough for artists to know the necessary muscles and how they work together

I 100% recommend doing the last exercise I did to be able to actually place the muscles

I designed Peridot in the pilot style :0

Idk why! But I wanted to and I really like how the Pilot style looks, so Bada bing bada boom

Individuals below the break! :D

This is one of my favorite bits of incredibly clever fuckery that goes on behind the scenes of 3D modeling, and I have an intense compulsion to talk about it right now.

If you've never seen the true geometry of the merc models, you're probably wondering what the hell is going on with the one on the left. Minecraft Steve 3D-printed looking motherfucker.

Believe it or not, it's the exact same model as the one on the right. The light is just being instructed to interact differently with its polygons! The one on the left is being given flat shading, while the one on the right is being given smooth shading.

The mercs have far fewer polygons than you probably think they do. And that's not just because the game was made in 2007! Most stylized faces probably aren't going to have many more polygons than this, especially faces designed for video games. Thanks to the magic of smooth shading, they don't need more than that.

So how the hell is this possible?

I'M GLAD YOU ASKED! Class is now in session!

The way I've already seen uncountable "Netflix is hiring!" Ads. They're really just gonna hire scabs and pretend the WGA strike isn't happening....

This is a reminder to anyone who wants to go into screenwriting. This is not an opportunity to get your foot in the door. Do not take any writing jobs during the strike. This includes freelance or “script editing” jobs.

You will be a scab. Scabs are barred from union membership. By crossing the picket line to get your foot in the door you’ll be burning one of the most important bridges in your life. You will actively be harming your future job prospects.

This strike will end one day. Those writers who are out picketing will reenter the writers room and start producing work with the legal and financial protections and guarantees they’re fighting for, and you will not be among their ranks. You will be a scab. A traitor.

A lack of union membership will harm your prospects job wise. Do not scab. Knowledge of your scabbing, traitorous ways will cost you your ability to make friends in the industry. Do not scab. Support the WGA as they fight for your rights. Do. Not. Scab.

the plague: stay inside
everyone: i must bake Bread, immediately

maybe if there was any fucking yeast on the shelves at the grocery store!!

yeast recipe: mix flour and water into a somewhat liquid. cover, leave on counter. Every day, add a spoonful of flour to the mix, occasionally water if it gets too thick. When the mixture begins to bubble, yeast is active. Keep in fridge, use as much as you need in recipe, literally the yeast left on the edges of the container are enough to make more yeast. Keep feeding it every day :)

Not a joke - this is how you make bread starter for sourdough, and how people worldwide make bread at home to this day.

The wild yeast found in flour and in the air of your home can be cultivated by just.... leaving wet flour paste and a sprinkle of sugar out as free real estate.

Yeast moves in, you feed it a bit more every day, and that’s a bread starter!

Mine is about two months old and going strong. Some bakeries pride themselves in having bread starters over a century old. The wild yeast gives bread a complexity and depth of flavor that gives sourdough it’s iconic flavor.

—-

When the yeast is hungry it starts to smell like wine or acetone.

When it’s eating well and happy, it smells like vinegar and fresh bread.

Keeping it cold slows its metabolism, so you can put it in the fridge if you don’t make bread every day.

In the fridge you only have to feed it every 2 days or so. Left out at room temperature, you have to feed, and take a piece off for baking every day.

Yeast is killed at temps over 85 degrees Fahrenheit, but it can withstand short periods of being frozen, so the cold fridge is fine.

As long as you have flour on-hand, it’s basically infinite ready-to-bake bread.

——

So far I’ve used my bread starter, mixed it with flour and water, and made:

  • Dumplings (rolled dough flat and stuffed with minced veggies)
  • Bread loaves (duh)
  • Fried dough balls
  • Elephant ears (that cinnamon-sugar ❤️)
  • Pizza crust
  • Plus eggs and butter = cakey bread

use, and i cannot stress this enough, thriftbooks

if thriftbooks doesn’t have what you’re looking for, especially if you’re looking for it used/cheap, alternatives include betterworldbooks and discoverbooks.

Other tips for cheaper books is checking amazon and scrolling down to the “buy used” or “other sellers” section and then checking to see if those sellers have storerfonts off of amazon.

There is also a good chance that you might have a local, indie book store that likely also has a used book section! Indiebound might help you find those book stores!

Also, check out your local library, sometimes, they have a for sale section or might have certain times of the year where they do massive used book (dvd, cd, etc) sales to fundraise!

(It’s also worth checking directly from an author’s or publisher’s page and seeing if they have other places they sell their books. I know this is about cheaper/used books, since some of y’all aren’t built for piracy or the library, but also if you want to dodge supporting amazon AND want to more directly support artists you support, there’s a good chance they might have alternate ways to buy the books!)

I use thriftbooks a lot, it's so good!

as someone who works in an independent bookstore, alibris is the best for supporting yr local bookstore! abebooks is now owned by amazon. thriftbooks is great also just doesn’t usually support independent stores.
