Not to mention, she was unable to concentrate on her track and field finals and the shot-put throw for which she had qualified," Kari said. The headline though, "accused of being trans"? Accused of? They could have written "Girl, 9, victim of transphobic harassment at Kelowna track meet"??? Accused implies something wrong could have been done - in this case, being trans could be seen as A Bad Thing.
Also, it's notable that the guy attacked not just the girl who had a pixie cut, but the girl who has TWO moms. So, he was attacking the child of an openly non-straight couple.
But this only happens in the US, this isn't my Canada, some people claim.
It's been happening here. It's happening here. It will keep happening here until either our elected officials and LOL enforcement decide to fucking put their foot down and defend our constitutional rights to be protected from anti-trans harassment (I know the girl is cisgender, but she's a victim of transphobic hate), or until they let us fucking deal with those assholes ourselves. It's one or the other.
