Zenkaikon 2024

I just wanted to be sure I made an announcement for my regulars 🫶that I won't be selling at Zenkaikon in 1.5 weeks 💔 - I wasn't picked to get a table.

They had A LOT of applicants this year, and the show IS juried if you didn't know. I have sold there 11 years in a row, it's definitely fair they wanted some new faces!

Also, honestly for the best, I wanted to attend just for fun still, but I am starting IVF drugs maybe just a week after con, I don't want to potentially get really sick. 😔 For how much IVF drugs cost, I can't jeopardize that.

So if you go, I hope it's really fun! It will be so weird not being there, but please wish me luck on egg retrieval 🤞💖

As for my sewn and clay work, I got to get a photo box to take pics now since we are doing a reno in my outer loft, as I definitely will need to work on getting up things online (finally?!) to make up for this financial hit. I will give updates on my socials as I do. ☺️✨️

While I'm here, have a cheery photo of a quilt I finished recently for the quilt shop I work at. 💖

Do you still post?

I do! I admittedly I have only had energy and time to make stock for the last 2 years for conventions I go to yearly (Colossalcon East, which is in a week now! And Zenkaikon) so nothing has ended up online to sell. I probably should post pictures of some of the lovely plush that I made for those events (you can see glimpses of them in the photos from my booth).

Me and my partner have been dealing with fertility doctor stuff, I've been dealing with tooth issues since spring, and was sick with both Covid and Lyme disease this spring / Summer, so things have just been kind of tiring and stressful on and off. 🫠😭

For colossalcon East coming up next weekend, I have some lovely handmade bags, rosettes, and great clay jewelry pieces, and I'll have a few plush. My art dolls take the most time and energy for me to make, so I can only make a few right now. I'm really hoping to make some new pieces this winter to put online, as well as new patterns for sale. 💕

Just wanted to share some of these original patchwork bags I've been making this past year! You might have seen some these in the photo from my artist alley table at Colossalcon East, but here are more photos, and a few in progress shots. 🥰

Some of these are patchwork and some are crazy improv piecing. Either way it's a totally unique bag! I use lots of interesting fabrics for my stash, including lots of import Japanese fabric, and vintage fabric!

me: ok, sewing machine, we gotta sew this tiny fucking thing so please behave

sewing machine: needle plate hungry

Pin or even tape small projects down onto paper or tissue paper! You'll be able to hold it flat and stable, keep the insatiable needle plate from devouring your project, and simply (carefully) tear away the paper, tissue, and/or tape afterwards!

You can even buy paper especially designed for this, tear away stabilizer! The basic kind you can get at Joann's is on the stiffer end and good if you need a lot of stabilization, they can be a little harder to tear away if your Stitch length isn't set small enough (pssttt that's the secret to making the tear away stuff tear easier, to set your stitch length down a bit).

A thinner kind of Tearaway stabilizer (that you can get for pretty cheap) is Thread Pro 7042 Stitch & Ditch. You can get a 8" x 70 yard roll for $12. It's kind of like the perfect thickness somewhere between tissue paper and parchment that tears easily but also stands up to your sewing at the time.

Regular old tissue paper will work too but I generally find it can be a lil too delicate, aka doesn't add enough stiffness for some things.

Had fun at Colossalcon East! 🥰💕 I love my modified table layout! We added a second pegboard, and got rid of the spinny thing, which made a little more space for fancy bags. Thanks everyone who came by and loved my work / adopted a creature!

Next con if I get in will be Zenkaikon! But I really want to get things up online for now, I know I haven't posted plush for 2 years online, just getting back into things after being a lil depressed/stressed during Covid era, and we've been busy with fertility planning! But I had fun making these plush for Colossalcon so I am ready to make new ooak things! Thanks everyone for your support! 🥺🙏💕🥰

Also gotta tag @diccha99 as I finally made a coord with her gorgeous 80's toys dress! Check out her shop plz her stuff is so great! The vest I decorated myself, and look for more like that from me soon 😘

Colossalcon East is next weekend! 💖😘

I'll be selling in the artist alley for the second time! I don't know my table assignment yet but you can find me there. Bae and I are still getting back in the swing of things so my stock might be a little lacking in places, but there will be some lovely plush pieces and I worked hard making some nice patchwork bags, many of them fairy kei. I look forward to it!

Hi!!! <3 I saw your sweater foxes on pinterest and I'll say that the one I saw was absolutely adorable! I also saw your pre-made post about focusing on those and was wondering where I would be able to buy a sweaterfox like that. I guess I'm not very experienced in etsy because I was unable to find where you put orders to browse. That's my bad.

The one that you did that was pink and purple and green just seems so perfect for carrying around with me and I'd love to fet one someday! I just recently discovered you and I love your work!

So thank you for looking Through, I hope we can do business soon! ^^

Thank you for your kind message 🥺💖🙏 It seems that one makes the rounds there! I admit I was really tired and stressed during Covid lock down and basically stopped sewing plush for a bit. Getting back into it now though, especially as I am going to conventions again to sell too!

The sweater foxes are each a little unique due to how they are made, or eventually can't be replicated design wise at all due to the limited amount of each felted sweater which I use on half of their parts. I'm happy to replicate certain color schemes or fabrics as long as they are available though.

I'll have to see when I can open commission slots again. I still would really like to focus on doing pre-mades more though. 💕 I just have had a lot going on and wasn't able to do it yet.

hello! I've only recently discovered your work but oh boy did I fall in love with it <33!

I was wondering if I'd be allowed to draw/doodle some sweater foxes? it'd be so cool to play around with some colors for them! (ofc I'd give credit if I decided to post it)

I completely understand if not! (also I'm so excited for more of your plushies to come out!! 🥰🥰)

Yes fanart is always A-OK with me! Just a link back or credit is all I ask. ^0^ Thank you so much!!!

I am at the Sakura Festival in Philly and I found two fans / patrons of my work! You looked so good!! @CloverLeafe had a bag I made and @that-one-jewish-elf knows my plushies and fairy kei work! ( we have literally just parked and she looked over from her car was like "are you the person who makes the cute plushies?" My wife was like "I can't take you anywhere." 😂💕 )

Hi! do you mind if I use your art for an artist study? I'd be sculpting one of the foxes and providing credit. if you'd rather I not, no worries, this is your art and i totally understand

I am ok with a use like that! That's neat you think one of my arts a good inspiration/ study subject. Tag me if you share it online. 😊

PS: great username. 😆😋

Hello! Will you ever be doing plush commissions again? 😊

Avatar

First of all, hello again!! I hope you are well! 🥰

I want to focus on premades for a while. I think that's what will make me be more productive right now as I try to creatively come back from the stress of the last 2 years now that life is sorta returning to normal. I have a bit of demand for my own designs so that is what I want to for now, as when I do too many commissions I never seem to actually be able to get anything into my shop for general sale.

I will open up commissions again soon as I am ready, hopefully in the Fall or Winter. ☺️

Photos of some items on my table at Zenkaikon 2022! The owls got snapped up really fast so I only have the group shot of them before the table was fully set up.

If you don't know my art I make handmade original plush, sewn quality bags, and polymer clay jewelry with a colorful or pastel aesthic! (Often Fairy Kei, Yumekawa, or Decora look). I also have some acrylic charms and pins, collage buttons, and am working on some products with my own characters on them with a kawaii aesthetic.
