I’m not good enough.

Sometimes I think we, as humans, are predisposed for breaking hearts.

After all it is our instinct to run away from anything that scares us.

Love is scary. That level of commitment to a single other person can be dangerous for both parties. The sort of reliance that two people can have on each other isn’t how we are supposed to exist. Reliance creates a need where there should only be choice. Because once choice is taken out of the equation, it is no longer love.

But we are drawn to certain people and we think we can’t live without them and they say they love us then they leave us because they’re just as fucking scared to love us as we are to love them.

The fact of the matter is that we can’t control how other people hurt us. The best thing you can do is choose to love yourself so then when someone else breaks your heart, which is inherently inevitable, you are whole enough on your own to continue to believe that love is still good, because just as humans are predisposed for breaking hearts, we are also predisposed for love.
