I didn’t get to choose. My immune system attacked itself, and I had no option or say in this. I spend every day struggling to stay healthy, because my life depends on it. Without insulin, I’ll die. Insulin isn’t a cure, either, its a life support. Until a cure is found, I’ll spend every day watching my blood sugars 24/7, counting carbs, injecting insulin, pricking my fingers with needles, and thin
king about this life-threatening disease 24/7. Every day. For the rest of my life. And, even though I didn’t choose this life, I am strong enough to live it. My strength represents the incredibly difficult journey I’ve been on that will hopefully provide the faith and inspiration to others who are going through difficult issues of their own. The reason I’m posting this is because today is World Diabetes Day. Not a lot of people are aware of diabetes, and what it really is. So, as my followers and friends, I am asking you to help me spread awareness on this day! I HAVE DIABETES, DIABETES DOES NOT HAVE ME!
