Everyone HATES king mark like hes the worst villain to villain but his main thing seems to be I dont like that one of my knights is having an affair with my queen??? Meanwhile Arthur having a whole child by his half sister (while being married to guinevere but male adultery is not important so) literally never gets mentioned
One thing I do understand is why Tristan and Isolde rarely show up in Arthuriana retellings because they fit so badly into the narrative
#theyre like if lancelot and guinevere werent the most wronged victims of the narrative plus had 0 self loathing#they just sort of suck#my favorite episodr is when after tristan and isoldes meet cute tristan has an affair with a different married lady#and lancelot is so mad. like tristan if youre not in the adultery for the courtly love drama dont do it

I actually think the first hobbit movie is the platonic ideal of a fantasy movie
