This post has riled a lot of people. For what it's worth, my point wasn't that technology is bad and Edison was a witch, my point was that any industry that can be killed by unionizing should be.

The reason people often "wallow in their misery" is because all of the good things that will help them have been tainted by neglect and abuse.

Going outside regularly is good for you. Being Forced to go outside when you don't want to and being treated like you're stupid for not being super into nature is going to make you not believe that.

Exercise is good for you. Being told all of your feelings are "in your head" and exercise will get rid of any mental issue you have is going to make you not believe that.

Laying off technology is good for you. Being told by a parent that they wish they could break every piece of technology you own is going to make you not believe that.

For this Disability Pride Month, I saw a post that was shittybad and it made me angry. So have this

it took another trans man sharing his blood test results with me for me to realize my doctor was committing malpractice for the past seven years by giving me far too little testosterone

it took many trans masculine people sharing their results with me to confirm it so I knew to try to find a different doctor, and they are now doubling my testosterone

I'm going to make sure to warn as many trans people as I can, as an individual, so that other people were not hurt in the way that I was hurt

this is why it's important to build communities for trans people and include them

To add to this point: It took me three years to realize my doctor committed malpractice by massively overdosing me on testosterone. It took me collapsing on my way to work and not being able to use my legs for them to figure out I was about to have a stroke as a direct result. My blood being as thick as it was meant even with twice daily blood thinners the phlebotomy I needed wasn’t possible with a 16G needle. I had a McDonalds strawberry milkshake running through my veins as apposed to the blood that should have been there and I just wouldn’t bleed. No matter how hard they tried they weren’t able to draw enough blood.

In part due to the autoimmune response that alerted me something was wrong I’ve been in pain everyday since the day before I collapsed. It’s been 5 years.

I had to be taken off testosterone and placed on blockers multiple times to prove that testosterone at healthy levels wasn’t contributing to my symptoms continuing. As an additional “fuck you” we already knew my body doesn’t function well on an estrogen dominant system. I required hospitalization and medication when I had periods when I was off testosterone. As a result of that it was recommended I get a hysterectomy sooner rather than later. Now I’m back on testosterone off blockers with a few less reproductive organs and a shit ton of medical trauma.

I will continue to scream this story from the top of my lungs until people realize the importance not just of testing your levels but understanding what the hell they even mean.

Talk to your friends about your levels have them talk to you about yours. Remind each other when it’s time to get tested. Ensure you and your friends don’t wind up like me.

-between ~300 and 600 ng/dl is the average male testosterone level across men across most age groups (excluding under 18)

-average male red blood cell count is between ~4.5-6 million red blood cells/mcl

-average male hemoglobin is ~13.5-17.5 g/dl

testosterone can cause your body to produce a lot more red blood cells (polycythemia) which can cause the blood thickening ^ not only should your doctor be checking your testosterone levels AT LEAST once a year, but they should also be checking your rbc count and hemoglobin levels. your doctor should also be sharing these results with you so you can make educated decisions about your health. please ask your doctor to see your results if they dont already share them, and if your levels are off, please try to see a new doctor if possible 💚

the ‘non-men’ label bothers me so much when it comes to talking about nonbinary people being welcome in women’s spaces because like. on one hand, you have someone with green hair, a buzz cut, tits and a high voice, and on the other hand you have someone who has a beard, deep voice, born with a dick and doesn’t plan on doing anything with it, and both of these two people are just as nonbinary as the other one, but we both know which one you’re thinking about when you say ‘non-men’. at this point, non-men just means anyone who passed as female, whether they are or aren’t, and its a stupid label because it’s full of internal contradictions.

Also can we talk about how this throws multigender people under the bus? "Non-men" excludes both people who are seen as men and people who identify as men even if they aren't noticed as men visually (idk if I phrased that well but I hope you get my drift).

My genders are Butch and Man, I am FtM trans, I am also nonbinary lesbian. Trying to define any queer setting/group as for non-men automatically excludes multigender people who identify with the man label, it excludes trans men, it excludes so many queer men!
