Scar's Pride: King, Queens, Lionesses, Cubs, Males
Second son of Uru, mate to Sarafina, and father to Zira, Kula, Mheetu, Akono, Adeaze, and Vitani. After murdering his brother and casting away his nephew, Scar took the throne. He invited the hyenas into the Pridelands, causing famine. After the birth of his brother's cub he named his mate Sarafina as his Queen. After her death, he named Zira, his eldest cub, as Blood Queen. Of his cubs, only Kula, Mheetu, and Vitani remain alive. He died at the hands of the hyenas shortly after the Battle for Pride Rock.
Mufasa's mate and Queen, mother of Simba. After the death of her mate, Sarabi realized she was pregnant. Claiming widow's right, she mated with Scar to provide the cub with a legitimate father and protect it. As was custom, she served as Scar's queen until the birth of her cub, Shanni. After the death of Scar's mate, she became leader of the hunting parties again. Sarabi dearly missed her dead mate, and was vicious in the fight to cast the hyenas away from Pride Rock. She served as Simba's Queen for a month before he wed Nala.
Taka's mate and Scar's Queen, mother of Nala, Tojo, Mheetu, Akono, Adeaze, and Vitani. Sarafina was Betrothed to Prince Tombo, but he broke that for another. She then accepted Prince Taka's proposal and wed him. He raised Nala and Tojo as his own cubs. Two years later, she gave him Mheetu, who would later be his heir. After fulfilling custom with Sarabi, Scar named Sarafina his Queen. She led hunting parties well and was the only lioness to make Scar smile. She died in a supposed accident, murdered by hyena for vengeance days after birthing Akono, Adeaze, and Vitani. After her death, Scar went mad with grief.
Mate to Chumvi, Blood Queen to Scar, and mother of Nuka and Aisha. Born to Naanda and Scar, her father acknowledged her as his cub under Sarafina's approval. She took Chumvi as her mate, and bore him Nuka. Disgusted at the cub's appearance, she all but abandoned him and refused to feed him. Sarafina and Chumvi convinced Sarabi to feed him alongside Shanni. After Sarafina's death and Mheetu's abandonment, Scar named his eldest daughter his Queen by virtue of her blood. As her refusal of Nuka had brought a new cub, she also took Scar's three cubs to feed alongside Aisha. She was also given Kovu, Utamu's cub. Zira was confined to her cave, forced to protect the cubs from the hyena during the Battle for Pride Rock. Shortly into Simba's reign, she attacked Sarabi and Simba cast her and the cubs she fed out, over Chumvi and Sarabi's protests.
Daughter of Uru and mother of Kovu. Utamu was born three years after Mufasa and Scar. Very young, she bore no cubs until she was ten, when she bore Kovu and died doing so. She refused to inform the Pride of who his father was.
Sister to Sarabi and mother of Zira. Naanda traveled to the Ndona Pride with her younger sisters and made no protest when Mufasa passed her over for Sarabi. She bore Scar Zira on the day he wed Sarafina, and she took in Tama when the cub was brought to wed a male from her Pride. She survived the Battle for Pride Rock and defended Zira to her Pride. When Zira was exiled, she walked her daughter to the border and wept for her.
Sister to Sarabi, mother to Kula and Chumvi. The youngest of Sarabi's sisters, she followed Naanda and Sarabi when Diku wed a King. The middle sisters looked exactly alike, save for their eyes. Dwala never uttered protest when her younger sisters wed kings. She bore Scar Kula and Tombo Chumvi and never protested as she raised the cubs of Kings who passed her over for her sisters. She never voiced her disapproval when Chumvi wed Zira. Dwala fought for Simba in the battle for Pride Rock and never spoke for Kula when he exiled Zira.
Sister to Sarafina and Ni. Sabini's mother Kali died birthing her shortly before Scar's reign. She was only five when Simba overtook the Pride, fighting with the other lionesses to defend him.
Daughter of Zalika of the Maji Pride and Ni. She was sent to Pride Rock as a cub to wed Mufasa's second son or Scar's first and cement an alliance. Being Zira's age, she was taken in by Naanda and raised within the Pride. Scar promised her Mheetu to wed. She would later fight in the Battle for Pride Rock. She demanded the promise made to her mother, and bore Simba a son, Tanabi, who looked so like Scar that Simba nearly denied him. Zira rebelled when Simba Betrothed Vitani to Tanabi. She became Malka's Queen after Tanabi weaned.
Daughter of Sarafina and King Tombo, brother to Tojo. Nala was the Pride's best huntress during her adulthood. Swifter than Utamu and stronger than Kula, some said Scar would have made her his Queen had she remained within the Pride after her mother's death. For the love of her mother, he was protective of her and never demanding. She fought viciously when she returned to find her mother dead, and when Simba exiled Vitani as Scar's heir, raged at Simba for weeks. She later bore Simba three cubs.
Daughter of Scar and Dwala, sister to Chumvi. Kula grew up with her father never officially acknowledging her, but he never turned her away and he treated her with the same regard as Zira. Scar treated her well until Sarafina's death, and she was the only lioness save Nala to escape the Pridelands at this time. Her brother was safe under Zira's protection but she was tormented. She fought in the Battle for Pride Rock and supported Simba in casting out Zira and her cubs. She helped her brother raise Aisha after Zira was exiled.
Daughter of Sarabi and Mufasa, sister of Simba. Shani was named for the impossible happening. Sarabi should not have given birth three months after the death of her cub, Shani should not have been possible. She told all she was Scar's cub. Her pelt told them differently, and all knew that only Sarafina and the lack of a mane stayed Scar's hand. Shani fought for her brother in the Battle for Pride Rock, and afterward Simba named her a Princess.
Son of Zira and Chumvi. Grandson to Scar. Nuka was born in Scar's reign, and although Zira pleaded, he refused to name the cub his heir. Zira rejected him for that, and Sarabi nursed him until he was weaned. When Simba exiled Zira, he cast Nuka out with her because he was male. Furious at Kovu's placement over him, he attempted to make his mother notice him, but was not brave enough to harm Kovu.
Daughter of Zira and Chumvi. Sister to Nuka. Zira's refusal to nurse Nuka led to her pregnancy with Aisha. Zira cared for her alongside Scar and Utamu's cubs, and when Zira fled, Simba allowed Aisha to stay with Chumvi, as she was female.
Son of Scar and Sarafina. Heir to Mheetu and Scar. He died three days after his mother, on the ninth day of his life. It only served to drive Scar deeper into madness. He first blamed Utamu, for her milk, then the Pride, for murder. He named the cub and had him buried, and refused to allow the Pride to sleep within the cave with his cubs from that day forward. Akono means, it is my opportunity.
First daughter of Scar and Sarafina. Heir to Scar. She died when she was very young, in the beginning of Simba's reign. Zira was nursing her, and blamed the Pride for her death, leading to her attacking Nala. Adeaze means King's Daughter.
Youngest cub of Scar and Sarafina. Zira took her to nurse after Sarafina's death, and when Zira was exiled Simba cast out Scar's direct heir with her when Vitani refused to leave her adoptive mother. Although she was Betrothed to Tanabi, he was forced to wait until she joined Simba's pride to seek her out.
Son of Utamu and unknown male. It is said that cubs come before siblings, but Scar named his nephew King by Betrothing him to Vitani when he was born. Zira arranged for Vitani to be Betrothed to Simba's eldest son instead, but when he Betrothed her to Tanabi by Tama rather than his Heir, she rebelled. Kovu would be king, because Vitani could not take the throne. When Simba cast Zira out, Kovu was a orphan and Zira had a claim, so out he went.
Son of Dwala and an unknown male, mate of Zira, father of Nuka and Aisha. Chumvi became Zira's mate when she learned she was pregnant with his cub. He loved her, but when she was exiled, Simba gave his cubhood friend a choice. He could either go with his mate or remain in the Pride with his female cub. Furious, Zira rejected him, and Chumvi mourned her. He raised Aisha and Simba raised him to the position of Prince, as if they were brothers.
Son of Sarafina and King Tombo, brother to Nala. Scar accepted him because he was Sarafina's cub, but he quietly requested Tojo go on the usual journey of young males before his mother's death. Tojo returned after Simba, and found a welcoming Pride.
