♥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN ♥

 October 9th 1940, Liverpool

Q: ‘George, what do you miss most about John Lennon?’  GH: ‘John Lennon.’

The technology isn’t time period appropriate but I like to think Lily showed Alice in Wonderland to Sev at least once. The Sword in the Stone was also on the menu, but Severus had issues with it. He doesn’t think about it for years, but one night he has a nightmare and it all comes flooding back.

Snape: "This is your copy of Advanced Potion-Making, is it, Potter?"
Harry: "Yes."
Snape: "You're quite sure of that, are you, Potter?"
Harry: "Yes."
Snape: "This is the copy of Advanced Potion-Making that you purchased from Flourish and Blotts?"
Harry: "Yes."
Snape: "Then why does it have the name 'Roonil Wazlib' written inside the front cover?"
Harry: "That's my nickname."
“This is just as well, Potter,’ said Snape coldly, ‘because you are neither special nor important, and it’s not up to you to find out what the Dark Lord is saying to his Death Eaters.’ ‘No - that’s your job, isn’t it?’ Harry shot at him. Harry had not meant to say it; it had burst out of him in temper. For a long moment they stared at each other, Harry convinced he had gone too far. But there was a curious, almost satisfied expression on Snape’s face when he answered. ‘Yes, Potter,’ he said, his eyes glinting, ‘That’s my job.” - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, chapter 26

Snape requires his students to get an O to pass on the advanced courses (NEWTs), but guess what, he didn’t for Defense. Hermione, if I remember well, only had an E in Defense (compared to Harry’s O) and still she got there. If Slughorn can accept new students, I think Snape could have refused those who got less than an O in Defense. I guess it was necessary because he had to teach the kids how to defend and attack before the imminent war, but I wonder how the Trio would have fared if Snape had been the Defense teacher all along.

“Harry, let go of him,” he heard Fudge’s voice say, and he felt fingers trying to pry him from Cedric’s limp body, but Harry wouldn’t let go. Then Dumbledore’s face, which was still blurred and misted, came closer.
“Harry, you can’t help him now. It’s over. Let go.”

Just because you have a period that doesn’t make a woman and just because you lack one doesn’t make you a man. You are who you are. Nothing less. It’s okay. If anything that’s been said recently has affected you, I’m so sorry.
