I got a commission from @limbosava of my RWBY OCs, Rowan Ahn and Syrin Vermeil! They both look so cool, and I love them so much
Bonus Lilya that she also did!
So I just found out the editorial reason Anya returned to Araña instead of Spider-Girl is that apparently there’s a new Spider-Girl. You remember back when the Superior Spider-Man was a thing, there was that giant spider he and the X-Men were fighting, then she turned into a girl and was brought away? Her, brought back as a proper character this time. Her name is Gwen Warren, she’s the mutant daughter of Scott Summers and the Spider-Queen from that old Spider-Island event, grown by the Jackal, and so also having some Stacy DNA (and both hers and the Jackal’s names). She can turn into a giant spider who can shoot lasers from her eyes, and no also into a regular-sized humanoid ‘spider-girl’, with many (8/10) eyes — like the new Spider-Boy too. Can’t tell whether this is good or not, but she’s on the X-Men, so there you have it.
Oh she sounds like a cool character! I think we have way more Spider-girls than just Anya though!
Genuinely so impressed with fanfic authors who can tell you exactly how many chapters their fic will be at the outset.
Mine's longer than a one-shot and shorter than 100 chapters and that's about all I can say about that.

Imagine, you have a younger half sister but you don’t get to see her often because she lives with your mother in Japan and you live in Connecticut with your father, but you still grow up seeing her occasionally, and she pays for your boarding school. Whenever you do see her, her ambition radiates off her like the sun, but she also holds a weight that looms over her, and over the years you realize it’s the weight of your mother’s expectations. You however are never given the same expectations, you are never given the same attention or love from your mother. And even though you're jealous of your sister you still love her. She understands you more than either of your parents have.
You grow up with different lives. Then one day, she calls you saying she will be doing an internship in New York with her father that she has never met. You get excited, she will be basically next store considering where she used to live, maybe this will be the chance to get to know her more, and you do, you see how she is still fueled by ambition, but also watch as her father poisons her even more by dragging her into his criminal world and drowning her in a new ocean of expectations. She pays for your college and your graduate school. Her father dies, and your sister’s ambition becomes obsession as she tries to prove to herself and the world that she is better than both of her parents. Everyone underestimates her as a female heiress, and she uses that to her advantage as she continues to run your mother’s company. She helps you set up your first job as a therapist. You grow close, the kind of close you always wanted, and you realize that she will never be happy until she can prove to herself that she is more than what her parent’s forced upon her. She starts making dark deals, makes a deal with a cat demon, asks you to take in a Cindy Moon as a client, you don’t think twice, you’d do anything for your sister. Her deal ends up killing almost half the gangs in New York. You are horrified, but not surprised. The deal goes south, and your sister is back at square one. She returns home to Japan, and for a while everything is quiet, but then your sister calls you in a manic state, her father is still alive, and he has broken her emotional state down to the lowest you have ever seen her. And yet, her ambition is higher than ever.
You find out she spent your mother’s company’s assets trying to find a magical being that would give her the power to become everything her father ever wanted and more. She tells you she is coming back to New York to use what she found to drain the energy of Cindy Moon, AKA Silk, and you agree just like you always have, because she gave you the support to have the life you currently have when no one else did and because maybe if she gets the power, she is searching for she will finally be happy. Or maybe you hope that if she fails Silk will show her that this isn’t the answer.
girls when two characters are mirrors of each other. where they both have similar backstories but emerge from That One event in two completely opposite ways
Luna Snow
Still one of my proudest piece, my favorite costume, and my favorite all in all. The K-Pop vibe and the glam civilian attire is what makes this suit pops more.
The only one who has her own song on spotify, I presume.
haha that's a nice starry-eyed ambition you've got there buddy. sure hope the narrative doesn't warp it into something ruthless and all-consuming
