Double Defence

(( ooc: This thread is part of the Everybody Lives AU that I first explored during this online. Ginny is @scamandergenes and “Mad-Eye” Moody is @whatsupitswendy. ))

Ever since the war, Harry had been working as an auror for the ministry. It had felt like the only right way to proceed from that point, but lately he hadn’t been feeling quite as pleased with it anymore. His life looked completely different now than it did all those years ago. Back then, all he knew was war. All he had ever done was fight. Now, however, he had finally come to grips with the end of the war, and his life was actually quite peaceful. He had moved on, and for that reason he was quite compelled to seek out another career. What really made Harry go through with the decision though, was when Ginny told him he was going to be a father. 

Magical law enforcement included many risks, especially as a field worker, and while he had never been very afraid of taking risks before, it wasn’t all about himself anymore. He was going to be a father. He couldn’t let that kid go every day wondering if their father would make it home from work or not. 

With a steady hand, and a determined mind, Harry handed over his letter of resignation to Moody.
