I believe abortion should be free, on demand, and no questions asked because you can debate philosophically all you want but at the end of the day, there is no way to restrict and regulate abortion that does not result in humiliating, traumatizing, harming the health of, and even killing people who are pregnant on a mass scale. There are very real, tangible, measurable harms abortion restrictions do to vulnerable populations and the only possible benefit in return is to placate the palate of the morally squeamish.

I'd actually not heard of this before so I looked it up, and I think this is an extremely good thing to know about and be aware of. Twitter thread.

I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said “might as well see if it works.” I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if you’re a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.

dude.

$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.

those extremely bromantic official rings got everyone on Twitter talking about married ZoSan, and it reminded me of a couple of wedding comics I’d had planned for ages but never had the impetus to actually draw… what are the chances

I don't even ship them but this is really funny.

5: What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?

untranslated words, phrases, and sentences like i’m sure you’ve seen anime fanfiction lmao. if it’s just a word or two esp one that’d be hard to translate then sure fine, but holy shit guys most honorifics are easy to translate actually, why are these Italian/French/Spanish/etc speaking characters who are implied to currently be speaking in their native language using untranslated pet names, NAKAMA MEANS FRIENDSHIP NAKAMA MEANS FRIENDSHIP NAKAMA MEAN

13: Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?

ok so for most fics my "outline" is a series of disjointed notes i keep at the bottom of the doc lmao

16: Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?

well for Three Step Breakout i looked up how stars are named only to find our conventions are too human based work for the setting orz it gave me some ideas at least

for a fic i’m working on where a guy named Rice plans to kill himself i’ve had to look up: when figs are in season in Sicily, whether or not and what kinds of cicadas, venomous snakes, wasps live there as well. regional Italian, foods esp from Sicily and the general Naples area. monogamous song bird nesting habits in Southern Italy. plug different english food words into google translate until i get something decently name-shaped Italian word. stare at many, many pictures of the Sicilian coastline while listening to sad TMG songs. and now that you’ve got me thinking abt it, check up on general roman catholic views on ghosts

and as for as vampires feed (I bleed) i spent a whole night looking up shit abt blood loss and symptoms and recovery and such before remembering this classic jojoke:

Huh. It's interesting you use One Piece for the language example, because I find cannon gives the vibe that everyone is at least bilingual. I just assume they use a single language for audience understanding.

That's actually a plot point in Demon of Flevance. Flevians don't really use honorifics (except sensei), but foreigners get testy if you don't use them. So Law and Lami are under the impression that -san is something you use for people you really respect.

This is why Law calls Cora "Cora-san" and *also* why he calls everyone -ya. He got into fistfights until he figured out you *had* to use an honorific. But he had trouble figuring out the right one and didn't want to *ask.* So he uses -ya, which makes him seem rude (which he is) without seeming overly familiar.

Isn't Nakama actually more difficult to translate into one single word? I think I read something about it meaning more/something else than just 'friend'? Or is that translation accepted as correct in this case, because context?

Proving a point to my boyfriend.

PLEASE REBLOG if you (male or female) believe it is perfectly okay and natural for a guy of any age to cry

100 Reasons NOT To Kill Yourself

1. We would miss you. 2. It’s not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or just simply left scars, or the regret everyone else feels by not doing enough to help you. 3. It does get better. Believe it or not it will eventually get better. Sometimes you have to go through the storm to get to the rainbow. 4. There’s so much you would miss out on doing. 5. There is always a reason to live. It might not be clear right now, but it is always there. 6. So many people care, and it would hurt them if you hurt yourself. 7. You ARE worth it. Don’t let anyone, especially yourself, tell you otherwise. 8. You are amazing. 9. A time will come, once you’ve battled the toughest times of your life and are in ease once again, where you will be so glad that you decided to keep on living. You will emerge stronger from this all, and won’t regret your choice to carry on with life. Because things always get better. 10. What about all the things you’ve always wanted to do? What about the things you’ve planned, but never got around to doing? You can’t do them when you’re dead. 11. I love you. Even if only one person loves you, that’s still a reason to stay alive. 12. helpline for Brazil: if you’re brazilian, you can call 188, they will help you. this number is from CVV (Centro de Valorização da Vida)

you can also look for their website (https://www.cvv.org.br/) there you’ll find some options and you can text them, skype or call.

I’ve already talked to them and it’s amazing, they do such a good job.

I cant believe it, this hell hole of a country actually has an emergency line for suicide and mental problems.

Colombia: emergency number 106 (unfortunately you would have to insist because there are few people working on there so is possible that your first call would not be answered)

Whatsapp: 3007548933 (for some dumb reason you cant call to that number, is just for chat)

just in case
