Crazy how we are everything that has happened to us but then you meet someone and you don’t see everything that has happened to them you just see them. And you both try to explain everything that has happened to you but your words and memories are so biased and oversimplified.

You gotta give it to Aang for being understanding and respectful towards Roku when they met because you just know that if the order was reversed and Kyoshi was the Avatar after Roku instead of Aang, she would have lost her shit talking to him. She literally yelled at Kuruk for leaving her with a very unstable world—overrun with pirates or bandits and full of corruption—, imagine what her reaction would have been if she'd been left to deal with the genocide of her people and basically a World War and being told she has to master all the elements in a year so she can defeat the strongest firebender in the world (at his strongest, too) at a young age, all that because Roku didn't kill the Fire Lord when he had the chance. She would have tried to physically fight Roku's spirit lmao.

“YOU DIDN’T FUCKING KILL THE GUY WHO WAS PLANNING GENOCIDE??”

You just know canon Kyoshi's spirit had beef with Roku's spirit because of that lmao (even if to a degree she would understand). Kyoshi herself usually had a weakness towards children, being usually very compassionate toward them even if she didn't get the same treatment because "the Avatar doesn't get to be a child". You know she probably felt bad for Aang being forced into that situation.

Roku: I was compassionate toward my friend. Aang--

Kyoshi: You fucked up a perfectly happy literal child is what you did. Look at it. It's got anxiety and has to end a fucking war at twelve.
