Miss Rosamund Pike simply cannot say that she wrote Sophie Okonedo an “impassioned letter” asking her to play Siuan and also that she improvised the second “on your knees” and Sophie went along with it and expect me to be sane after reading that

I thought we’d have more time. We always think that. Don’t we? One day we will. In this life or the next.

Damodred women trying to distance themselves from their twisted legacy…

Moiraine: *goes to the White Tower, dates the fisherman’s daughter, never frowns upon Siuan’s foul language, becomes a great prankster*

Elayne: *learns as many swear words as she can, even if nobody wants to tell her what they mean*

Sentimentality - A Lan/Moiraine Fic

Ofc I had to milk the angst for all it was worth?? OF COURSE I DID.

Title: Sentimentality

General Warning: Spoilers from episode 1x06 of the show.

Summary:  Post 1x06 - After leaving Siuan in exile, Moiraine finds a moment to grieve for all she’s had to sacrifice for her quest to save the world. Lan, sensing her grief, brings her a cup of tea and a sense of comfort and hope.

Teaser: ‘He gave her shoulder a slight squeeze, a wordless apology for startling her. Looking up at him, she realised that he was holding a cup of tea out to her. A rush of fondness flooded into her at the sight, and at his impeccable sense of timing. Finding a small smile from somewhere, she reached up and took the cup from him, cradling it within her hands, savouring the warmth.

Lan settled down beside her with a cup of his own. Moiraine had to take a moment to appreciate that, when she had told him to pack only the essentials, he had counted her tea-set as such.’

All of the Emond’s Fielders had finally fallen asleep, despite the ominous threat of the Ways around them. Nynaeve had been the last stubborn hold out, as ever, needing to make sure her friends were safe before succumbing to rest herself.

Loial had retreated a respectful distance from her, to give her as much privacy as he could while they camped. Somehow the ogier had sensed that she wasn’t in the right frame of mind to listen to his tales. While she would ordinarily have thrived upon them, after all that had happened, she was too exhausted to do much more than sit.

So he kept his distance, keeping watch, copying out the Old Tongue text on several of the pillars, making notes on their construction and translation. She would speak to him of them tomorrow.

For the moment, everyone was safe, on the path she needed them to be on, and not requiring her constant, unwavering attention as they travelled the treacherous Ways. So, for the first time since leaving Tar Valon, her mind was free to dwell upon her grief, with nothing at all to distract her from the gaping well of pain within her chest.

Unwittingly, she found her gaze lingering once more on Rand and Egwene. The young couple were curled up together beneath their blankets, so closely entwined in their sleep it was difficult to tell them apart as two individuals. She and Siuan had been entwined the same way, not even a day past.

She had been unable to stop herself watching their reunion at the Gate. Watching their joyful embrace as she thought of the woman she loved; the woman she had just left behind. Again. It had been a special sort of torment. If she hadn’t known better, she’d have thought the Wheel had set that up just to twist the knife one last time.

In the early days of their quest, her reunions with Siuan had gone much as Rand and Egwene’s had. There had been laughter, fierce embraces, wild smiles, deep, passionate kisses. The thrill and excitement of being together again had overwhelmed all else. It had all seemed so exciting back then. The stolen moments they were able to have with one another, the longing, the build-up to seeing each other again. Sharing tales of their adventures and discoveries, delighted at the chance to reconnect and make the most of every second they had before they returned to the quest to save the world.

It had now been twenty years. Twenty long, interminable years. Time, as it had done to much of her former self, had slowly stripped away that feverish glee and youthful, ignorant joy. They knew better now. Each reunion was tempered with the knowledge that it must always come to an end too soon. That the Wheel would always pull them apart once more. This time she had helped it do its work, and do it well.

Closing her eyes, she allowed herself a moment of weakness, a moment of despair. She had given so much to this cause, so much of herself, so much of her joy. Strangely, now, as it neared what might be its culmination, she felt more than ever that she had nothing to show for it at all but pain and loss.

The words she had spoken echoed in her hollowed heart as they had echoed in the Hall. Never to return until she calls me home. She knew that Siuan would have already called her back, if she could. But the Amyrlin Seat did not have such luxuries. It may well be that she was never in a place to call her home. That she would never see or know that again.

A hand rested gently on her shoulder and she actually jumped. Lan could creep up on shadows, but not usually on her. Their bond allowed her to feel where he was, no matter how far or near. Now she had been so withdrawn into herself that she had not been aware of the bond, and had not sensed his approach.

He gave her shoulder a slight squeeze, a wordless apology for startling her.

Moiraine had to take a moment to appreciate that, when she had told him to pack only the essentials, he had counted her tea-set as such.

They sat together in wordless solidarity, side-by-side, both looking out over the darkened camp. Moiraine sipped at the tea, which was as fine as she had ever tasted. Lan knew how she liked it, and had made it with his characteristic care. Even though she had to force it down past the lump in her throat, it helped, spreading through her and warming her in a way no campfire ever could.

[video description: a big orange cat sits inside a large metal pot on a kitchen counter looking around slightly confused and bewildered as two people off screen repeatedly point at him and say ‘little baby man’ over and over again overlapping with one another as they repeat the phrase /end description]

Rating: Cute

This cat appears to be curious rather than stressed. The cat is probably in the pot for the same reason cats like being in boxes.

i was scrolling tumblr mindessly beside my mom and i pass like, an aesthetic pic of a pair of tits (with a necklace. but mostly tits) and my mom is like "hold on. what was that." and i show her and shes like "oh! that's cool. tits........ you like those!" and like i just wanted to tell everyone... i love straight people. i think we should keep them around after the revolution, for entertainment

My cat likes to keep a schedule and if I don’t go to bed on time he just… sits somewhere nearby and stares at me until I go to bed.

Tonight while doing that, he fell asleep

So instead of going to bed like he wanted me to I made him into a meme

I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?

Avatar

Sometimes, sure, but why was Maid Marian a fox in Robin Hood? There wasn’t anything particularly “foxlike” about her personality, and it would make more sense for her to be a lion. They made her a fox only because Robin was a fox and making her something else would be “weird”, but I don’t think the wolf cop or the chicken maid or the lion prince were actually meant to represent race.

The best inter species couple is Kermit and Miss Piggy as the Cratchits in A Muppet Christmas Carol, because all their sons are frogs and all their daughters are pigs, as God clearly intended.

Avatar

there are only two genders: frog and pig

I’ve pointed out to my friends that the fact that Kermit and Miss Piggy’s kids are like that means either

1) they reproduce asexually and the children are clones of each parent OR

2) Kermit and Miss Piggy are members of the same sexually dimorphic species, hence the split between their male and female children

yes I have spent too long running about potential muppet biology

Avatar

oh god

Third option, when they want kids they get some fabric and make one, and hope a Hand inhabits it

Avatar

Do you think there’s a ritual for inviting An Inhabiting Hand to possess the empty husk of your muppet baby?

Just wanted to show u guys that in Muppets Most Wanted, Piggy fantasizes about her and Kermit having babies and this is what they look like

So do with that what you will

Recall that in The Great Muppet Caper, Kermit and Fozzie are brothers. And this was their dad (right):

Thank you for specifying, which one of the two individuals in the picture was the dad haha

I, for one, think Shrek handled interspecies coupling the best. By this I am of course talking about the Dronkeys.

In season 3 of BoJack Horseman, we learn Diane (middle) has been impregnated by Mr. Peanutbutter (left). The fetuses are confirmed to be puppies.

This is the worst addition to this post

I am reminded of Treasure Planet.

In which Captain Amelia (left), an extra terrestrial anthropomorphic cat, had hybrid babies with Doctor Doppler (middle), an extra terrestrial anthropomorphic dog, whom also gave birth to the babies

I always thought that in muppet movies like muppet Christmas Carol the characters are played by the muppets (so kermit is acting and playing the role of Bob rather than being him) so the kids in that film would just be other acting muppets right?

Or is that just something my brain made up?

Last time I saw this post (YESTERDAY) it stopped at the second Eggman

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.

In Leo the Lion (2005) a lion and elephant have the most cursed hybrid children and I think yall should see them

(also Matt Mercer voices the villain, Maximus Elefante and I think that’s very important)

I think that what they are talking about is perfectly clear.
