The entire main cast of Star Wars just saying a giant fuck you to JJ Abrams and Disney is truly one of the most iconic things I’ve seen. John Boyega making an Instagram post just to say that Finn was absolutely not going to tell Rey he loved her which included a tweet about Finn being in love with Poe? Amazing. Daisy Ridley looking JJ Abrams, the man who decided to make r*ylo cannon while completely ignoring Finn and Poe’s romantic potential, in the eye and saying that finnpoe is the superior ship? An insane power move. And then Oscar Isaac? Taking about how finnpoe should have become canon in every single interview? Specifically calling out the “Disney overlords” for not being ready to include a gay relationship in their movies? Absolutely sensational! Literally the most legendary thing I have ever witnessed! I’m kinda concerned he’s gonna get hunted down by some Disney assasins but damn, I would honestly die for that man at this point

I don’t normally get into this sort of thing here but I’d like to add that it’s come to light recently according to insiders, as noted in depth here, that Abrams was just as much at the mercy of Disney as anyone else, and has been since TFA. He wanted Finnpoe from the start, was not interested in Reylo, and the cast loved working with him and are incensed for him. This is all Disney pleasing anyone but fans.

And at worst, this post is totally what they wanted people to think of Abrams.

He can be blamed for a lot of things, but this isn’t one of them, and assigning the blame for it to him means giving a pass to those actually responsible. So don’t do that.
