How do you get through heartbreak? The guy I'm in love with and have been with for the past 4 years has just got a new girlfriend and all I see is their pics together all over instagram/twitter etc and it's killing me. I don't even want to go outside anymore and just want to cry in my room and when I'm out with friends I'm still constantly thinking about him. I don't know what to do, Its taking over my life. I cant stand the thought of him loving someone else

firstly, to get past through heartbreak you need to cry a lot and give it a lot of time because there is no magic cure. the best thing that i’ve found is to not isolate yourself during this time because it will only make things a lot worse. also, get out of the house, do things because if you’re just sitting at home all day listening to sad music and stalking his face book then it’s going to feel a lot worse but if you’re out and about, going out with your girls, meeting new people, it won’t necessarily hurt as much, so put yourself out there and don’t coop yourself up at home in your home, it’s not okay to do that, occasionally it is to have some alone time but you do definitely need to get out of the house and take your mind off of it. sadly there’s nothing you can do about them being together, although if you’re not comfortable seeing photos of them, un following them both will be a really important step… don’t purposely go onto their social media pages and stalk them, you don’t need to do that, it will make you feel worse. if you don’t see it, then you will eventually forget about it. the best thing you can do is GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. i know it hurts and you don’t want to do anything but heart break doesn’t hurt as much if you don’t let it. don’t let it hurt you, distract yourself, have fun, go out, you don’t need to cry over hi, you don’t need to always be thinking about him. so do something for yourself, help yourself in this situation and just get out of the house xx
