Hey so it's come to my attention that the Creators of Disco Elysium want you to share the game and not give the company who took over and fired them (illegally)?) any profits off of their ideas and work, and I originally joined tumblr 2 weeks ago when that post was going around about the Steam sale and how you should [Skull and Crossbones flag] it instead.

I see this and I've never wanted to sink a ship so much in my life I'm biting through wood as we speak

God if I saw this in person I'd straight up start slithering. Start writhing

The way he just *clenches fist* makes water light up from the inside. Ugh, I once zoned out in front of one of his larger paintings in a gallery and came to, like, twenty minutes later, smelling saltwater and tasting driftwood.

This is his largest painting ever. It is 2,8×4,2 meters large. That is about 9'3"×14'1". It took him ten days to paint. This is a guy who painted normal-sized paintings in an hour, two, tops, according to contemporaries.

He was utterly unique.

A Youtuber who makes two hour long & strangely ominous video essays about Lost Media: it'll all be on Archive dot org by the end of the week you son of a bitch. Also the forbidden original pilot of Caillou and the French dub of the long sought after August 27th, 2001 Spongebob bumpers

Lost Media Indiana Jones swiping the last copy of Batgirl from the CEO of Discovery and shouting "it BELONGS on Archive dot org and sketchy torrent sites!"

This is all fine from a consumer perspective but it utterly screws creators.

Did you know that if a company writes off your show or movie, you don't get residuals from it anymore?

If I were a creator, I'd rather my stuff be pirated than become lost media and cease to exist entirely. Just throwing that out there.

On Twitter after the HBO Max shitshow, showrunners were literally begging archivists to pirate their shows in order to preserve them. I don't have screenshots on hand, but Owen Dennis of Infinity Train and all the crew of Summer Camp Island come immediately to mind.

Like, at this point, the creators have already been screwed. The networks are hanging them out to dry. This isn't a "if you pirate it, it doesn't get renewed" situation, this is a "if you DON'T pirate it, it might become completely lost" situation.

It's like how the original 1931 Frankenstein movie had scenes cut from the completed film by censors under the Hays Code. The original film wasn't rediscovered until the 1980s, and then only because someone had stashed away an original copy somewhere.

Media piracy and media preservation are two sides of the same coin, and there's not really a universal code of ethics that can be applied. Sometimes piracy is a gray area. Sometimes it's vital.

This wakes up St. Anthony, who is responsible for the wind, and gives you a strong breeze. But be careful, it is important from which side you whistle. Because if you whistle softly from the right side (here we go again, right is the good side) you will summon up a pleasant breeze. But from the left, you summon up a heavy storm.

thank you so much for the support over the last three days! i got over 10k hits on the website!!!

i wish i could upload faster/more often but i have been busy & tired. i did make a number of small updates today though! including links to VPN leak checks, where to find roms and emulators, more torrenting sites, and a small dictionary section that has VERY SIMPLE definitions of some words that i used.

This is legit the only piracy guide I've seen on tumblr that is not full of terrible advice go read and do this rn or else
