Bruce: Listen to me. Under no circumstances do you go down to the police station and snoop around, and put yourself at risk. Do you understand?

Dick: Yeah.

Bruce: Look me in the eyes and say it.

Dick: I won’t go.

Bruce: Good.

*Bruce leaves*

Dick: Let’s go.

Wally: Where we heading.

Dick: Police station.

Wally: You just told Bruce you wouldn’t go there.

Dick: How long have you known me?

im so done with seeing articles about kids and screen time that doesnt mention parent behaviors even once. “kids are always on their phones” so are the parents! which the kids look to for how they should behave! ipad babies didn’t chose to only play on their ipads, thats what their parents gave them!

an anecdotal example: when i was a kid, all my parents would do in their minimal free time was watch tv and then they would be surprised when in my sister and i’s minimal free time we would also only watch tv/play video games. they scolded us for not reading books, but they never read books. they scolded us for not going outside but they never went outside.

“kids are always on their damn phones” my mom is in her 60s and opens up candy crush anytime she’s sitting — it isnt just the kids

POV: you tried to watch Shazam 2 in your local cinema, but two out of four cinemas are broken. Now as a cinema manager you didn't think anyone would watch Shazam 2 at 4:30PM on a Thursday. But here we are, the two of us, the only ones trying to watch it and they realised they have to let us watch it somehow.

Because apparently they put this movie in one of the broken cinemas on purpose

Cause they thought no-one would watch it

So now they have to improvise and we're sitting in a completely dark cinema

I mean it, the lights are off

And nothing's happening

What a day

Actually I think we should talk about how incredibly fucked up it is for sapphic women to say shit like "I'm no better than a straight man 😔" when attracted to a woman in a way that isn't 100% pure and wholesome, or act like men's attraction to women is inherently dirty, predatory, or objectifying.

Avatar

Also, there's nothing wrong with straight men. Conflating "straight men" with "sexual objectification" is some gender essentialist thinking.

That way lies TERFdom, don't do it.

Avatar

Exactly! Is it fucked up when a straight man objectifies a woman or violates her boundaries? Yes, absolutely. It's awful. But that's not an inevitable part of being a straight man. They can do better, and if one doesn't, that's a choice that he should be held accountable for, not "well of course he did that, all straight men do."

And it implies that no demographic other than straight men is capable of objectification or assault, which is blatantly untrue and also invalidating to their victims.

It's flat out TERFdom, and unfortunately common in "inclusive" queer spaces.

“Cringe culture is dead” isn’t just about letting 15 year olds cosplay MHA (but is also an issue). It’s about letting 50 year olds dance at clubs even if they’re “bad at it”, it’s about letting 10 year old’s wear random bits of clothes to make an outfit that’s “weird”, it’s about letting adult men experiment with artsy makeup looks even when they’re “messy”, it’s about letting teens scream music even if they “sound bad”.

“Cringe culture is dead” means letting people learn new hobbies at any age, experiment with their identity at any time, expressing themselves in ways outside the norm just as much as it means let 20 year olds play roblox.

Cringe culture is just social norms being forced on people rebelling against societies value consensus, it’s keeping people in brackets that are easier to market to.

Let cringe culture be dead in every aspect of life outside online spaces.
