Avery or something

@leftyer

i draw sometimes (#my art), horror nerd, trans/NB lesbian, she/they.

maybe it’s just a personal experience but over the last few months as I’ve finally been making more and more efforts to start coming out publicly (will hopefully be getting on HRT within a few weeks!) I’ve found myself identifying less and less with the gender binary,

for the first 3 or so years I spent in the closet time I would have just said I’m a girl to people who knew but more recently I’ve been thinking and i just feel disconnected from any particular labels like that, doesn’t fit cleanly anymore especially as I’m starting to finally be able to be myself, whoever that is

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we have found a way to attach a Fax machine to a person's final resting place!

This is about Sci-Hub. yeah we get it.. gatekeep knowledge and protect the interests of capital…

Listen, this is serious.

Do not use the website called Sci-Hub!

It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.

Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.

So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?

Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Here is the link just so you make sure that you never accidentally stumble across this horrible, unethical website.

Oh, and while we’re talking about books, if you’ve managed to stay clear from Libgen, definitely don’t go to zlibrary, where you can also find a lot of textbooks, but unfortunately they’re completely free.

Hi ct. Do you have any tips on how to make a tarot deck?

Avatar

So I designed a cartomancy deck, not a tarot deck, but here's some tips:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the symbology of the Rider Waite Smith. Everything matters. Ask yourself why the color of the background is important. Why does the moon have a lobster?
  2. If you're making a tarot deck, your work will be in conversation with the RWS. What do you have to say? What do you wish was changed or improved upon? What would those changes look like? (For example, Crowley's Thoth deck changing Strength to Lust.)
  3. If you're making a non-tarot cartomancy deck like I did. Consider the overall structure. More cards makes the deck more powerful, but harder to learn (and physically shuffle). Consider how most people actually read a Tarot deck, (3-5 card hands, random single draws.)
  4. Revisions are important. Start off having fun. Then do a serious revision. Then do a fun revision to mix up what isn't working. Then finish serious.
