Sometimes you’ve just have to feel down.

You don’t always have to fix it. You can’t always fix it/change it/lighten it. Sometimes that’s just the way you gotta feel.

And that’s okay.

Doesn’t mean you can’t try. But, at a certain point, acceptance is better than beating your head against the brick wall of uncomfortable, unmovable feelings. When you reach that point, you’re just piling on new ones.

Let it be.

If you’re like me and you have the debilitating habit of beating yourself up over things, look yourself in the mirror and just go “I am young and I am allowed to make mistakes. It’s not that serious.” Bc it really isn’t. It is not that serious at all. This is not our second time living. We did not have a rehearsal for what the correct way to live is. This is our first time and we are allowed to stumble. It’s fine. It’s not that serious.

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

Always remember you are not responsible for managing other people’s feelings. If they’ve hurt you, tell them directly instead of worrying about how they’re going to receive it. If they abandoned you make it clear on how it affected you. It’s okay to express yourself. They need to know how it’s affecting your friendship or connection to them.
