"I couldn't find a female mechanic, so I became one."

A recent study found that auto-repair shops overcharge women more than men. Patrice Banks founded Girls Auto Clinic to teach women about car care—and to put women in the driver's seat when making purchasing decisions.

Jimmy Kimmel asked kids, "Why do women get paid less than men?" This girl’s response about sums it up.

Special shoutout to our Lean In Circles who have found awesome and creative ways to observe #EqualPayDay.

Lean In DC is partnering with 15 local businesses across D.C. to offer 21% off for women customers and their advocates (check it out: http://bit.ly/23svfXO)

”Time is just as much a resource as wood and nails, and women everywhere have less of it. In some countries, the average woman spends 8 hours on housework, every single day. Unless things change, girls will spend tens of thousands more hours than boys on housework.” -Melinda Gates

“We’re raising our girls to be perfect and we’re raising our boys to be brave," says Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, in her new TED Talk. We teach girls to be “perfect, and pretty, and nice,” while boys are expected to be “tough, and brave and strong. I immediately see how girls are afraid to try things that they won’t be good in."

She urges: “I need each of you to tell every young woman you know to be comfortable with imperfection.” ‪#‎LeanIn‬

Let's proclaim the end of women laughing alone with salad. Two years ago, we launched the Lean In Collection on Getty Images, a library of thousands of creative images devoted to changing the portrayal of women and girls in media and advertising. Now it's time for phase two.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Lean In Collection on iStock by Getty Images, an affordable counterpart to the original collection that is accessible to budgets of all kinds and open to photographer submissions.

Let's change this. Read more: womenintheworkplace.com

Our #WomenInTheWorkplace2015 study shows that employee participation in flexibility programs is low—and there is evidence that employees are reluctant to participate out of fear of being penalized. Read more about the numbers, and how we can change them, at womenintheworkplace.com.

Today, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) launched Lean In Military Circles across all branches and with DoD civilian personnel. (Join the chapter: leanin.org/military)

The military is the largest employer in the United States and it has a huge role to play in getting us to an equal world. Circles have already been forming organically in the military, and we're thrilled that the DoD is expanding a program that empowers women.

An enormous thank you to Secretary Carter, the DoD, and to every woman who serves in uniform to protect our nation. ‪#‎LeanIn‬
