uh hey there 🧍🏾‍♀️
for once again. two devastating earthquakes happened in turkey and people need your help. it's been 3 days and there are still people buried alive and about to die any minute but you can save them.

1. DON'T DONATE to kızılay.org (red cross) > why? because although they're a legit government organization, they've been pocketing donations and earthquake taxes since 1999 gölcük earthquake. there are thousands of articles about them on the internet and every turkish people asks the same question: "what happened to the earthquake special taxes in turkey?"

2. DONATE TO

Ahbap Charity (charity of Turkish singer and philanthropist Haluk Levent, very reliable person) > https://ahbap.org/disasters-turkey

Haytap Animal Rights Federation (for animals affected by the earthquake) > https://fonzip.com/haytap/bagis

AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) > https://en.afad.gov.tr/earthquake-donation-accounts

1 dollar = 18 liras / 1 euro = 20 liras

This site has been going around Twitter trans accounts quite a bit lately, so just pointing out here too that it'll do fuck all, they're exploiting trans people at a time when hrt is particularly hard to access and please don't give them your money

This is a really scummy and disgusting thing for someone to do and I sincerely hope they get in trouble for this in some way. The ad they made is very fake — the label itself looks fake, and there’s no fine print warnings or nutrition facts. Don’t trust this “estrolabs” thing please!

happy pride month to all intersex people 💜💜💜. whether or not you feel at home in the LGBTQIA label, you are worthy of celebration and community! we are allowed to be proud of being intersex, this month and all others. intersex is BEAUTIFUL and we deserve to feel loved, appreciated, and welcomed by our community and the larger LGBTQIA community.

Support is going out with my hijabi (chadori) friend and the metro gateman letting us pass for free because we were the definition of hijabi and non hijabi solidarity. The face of freedom.

Support is also this business in Iran that was shut down for not enforcing the hijab law on their customers, and then on the day it was reopened, they announced they're offering 50% off to women who don't wear mandatory hijab.

[Image id// a screenshot of an Instagram story that was made by a business account. it reads: hello beautifuls, we're back! to celebrate the reopening of the store, 50% off is being offered to anyone who shops in person without mandatory hijab. //end of id]

Of course they were forced to apologize and delete their announcement a couple of hours later, but the message stands. The fight won't be over.

"To support feature film and television writers in our community as they stand for fair pay and protections in the workplace, recognizing that this action may result in financial hardship for writers and their families, Humanitas is distributing grocery store gift cards to current WGA writers in need.

"These will be dispersed while supplies last. Humanitas will be prioritizing writers who are early in their careers."

Please reblog, folka? Many thanks.

APRIL 10, 2023: Four days after being unjustly expelled by racist Republicans in Tennessee, Justin Jones was sworn back into office

He then marched arm-in-arm, back to the Tennessee State House with thousands of cheering constituents and supporters

With his head and fist raised high, Rep. Justin Jones triumphantly returned to the Tennessee Chamber where he reclaimed the seat that voters elected him to

We love to see it.

I'm livid. Attenborough played a large part in me deciding to follow ecology and conservation as a career path! The episode that's being withdrawn is about the destruction and rewilding of British natural habitats, which the general public need to see! Pandering to right-wing morons, who do nothing but bury their heads in the sand and pretend that they've got nothing to do with it, is not how we're going to fix it! The world is suffering biodiversity loss on a huge scale and more awareness means more likelihood of people coming together to find solutions! I've never been so disappointed with the BBC...
